Here's the thing... met this guy a couple of weeks ago... a couple of days ago he says he had got food poision and his hotel room was robbed while he was at the hospital... ok? well all of his money has gotten stolen and wants me to send him $550.00.. and says he will pay me back... I hav not known him that long... I know I should not lend out money to strangers... What do I tell him? HELP....

and how did you actually hear from this guy in the first place, i mean how did you communicate, it does sound like a scam to me as well and i wouldnt send a dime.

i don't plan on sendin him the money... but we talk thru email... im very honest person... but have a good eye to know when someone is scammin me... just had to find some friends that i could talk to about this... how do i get rid of him now?

how to get rid of him.. BLOCK HIS BUTT!! and dont respond to his emails and if he has your phone number ignore them

block his email most isp's can do that

Just be honest ... tell him you are NOT comfortable "lending " him the money AND quite possibly DO NOT have that kind of spare cash anyway .... thats all .. :)

Yeah thats just silly. I can't imagine that I'd think twice about sending money to someone I've never met, and certainly wouldn't be asking for it from someone I've never met. Who does that? I mean really, who does that.

On the other hand, can I "borrow" a hundred bucks?

I had somebody come on my friend Carol's IM on msn & act like it was her & say she was in moline ILL. visiting a friend that had been hurt could I send her $$$$....$800.
Well I called her up & she came over & the police too..
I talked to the guy for a while then told him, then the azz even offered me & my family protection for $500

He did offer to give me her new password since it would do him no good now, bein a nice guy cuz she's a ol' lady!!
He never did... So she was never able to get back into her msn or her hotmail acct. that she used all the time...

That sounds like a scam . Does the guy you know live in your area? That sounds the same way how I met some girls on the internet. Some of the girls I met on here, do not live here in the USA. But when she wanted to stay with me together in LIFE she had wanted me to pay her way here in the USA. NO WAY.

Only maybe thinking about helping the guy with money , only If you seen eachother for a long time, and have seen him in person plenty of times. Because only knowing each other through Email does not mean nothing. It sounds like a scam, and he may have been using you to just get money. People go to school to learn how to scam. JUST DON'T GET BACK THATS ALL.

just want to fill everyone in. There are a couple of HUGE scam rings out there (not counting all the regular con artists). they have entire rooms of people answering IMs and emails. these are in Nigeria and Russia. They use the pics of models from around the world but if you ask for more they look a bit different in them (close but not exact). They ask you to help them get home, or whatever. They also will ask you to cash a check for them so by the time you've sent the money the check bounces and you're out of money (these are cashiers checks so now you're in trouble with the law here) DO NOT under any circumstances send money to anyone you've met on line. There is a group of us that "busted" a supposed guy that was in love with all of us. Turned his name and info into the FBI. Of course he isnt real and he's not in USA so cant do anything to him. There are websites though for checking on some of the names and pics they use. Feel bad for the people in the pics tho...they are the innocent ones not knowing that someone else is using their picture. If they seem FAR TOO GOOD to be true...they probably are a fake. I mean I'm not totally ugly but why would a model looking guy fall in love with me after one conversation (and they they American women are stupid and desparate)...Call them out on it and they leave you alone very quickly!!
