So I signed up for a gym in my neighborhood. There were so many good looking men there I wondered if I could stay focus on my workout. I have this thing, just my thing about guys I don't want to date or marry.

1. Police men.
2. Military men.
3. Guy who play sports for a living. (as if)
4. Firemen
5. Professional singers.

Why, you might ask. Because of large number of women they come in contact with. Now I know if a person is going to cheat, he or she is going to cheat no matter what profession they are in. Now I have one more to add to my list. Men who frequent the gym. laugh Do you have any professions you choose not to date a person in for any reason?

no

I'm more interested in the person not how they make their money

and yes, if he's gonna cheat he's gonna

sometimes guys who spend a lot of time with large #s of women really get tired of being around them and yearn for male company

I think I'd worry about that more than cheating as I want my guy to WANT to spend time with me

not see me as 1 more woman he has to deal with ...

Interesting list. I dated a firefighter and he even admitted to me that he could get any woman he wants as they hit on him all the time. Most times women won't date firefighters, cops, or military is because of the risk of them getting killed. As for singers, and athletes; just like the military they are away from home all the time so that would be hard on a relationship.

Funny enough, I haven't really thought about that. I'm drawn more to a physically strong guy then one not so, but specific professions don't affect me. I have no interest in the men who are so musclebound, they look grotesque, veins sitting on top of muscles, and well, just yuck! I like the lean runner, swimmer type guy, or one who can actually do physical work.

I like your list. Here's my take on the choices.

1. Police men -- Too paranoid. I never trusted them.
2. Military men -- Same as above, they're way too close to the government.
3. Guy who play sports for a living. (as if) -- One word: Meatheads.
4. Firemen -- I actually disagree with this one. Some are pretty welcoming, much more than a cop. But the stressful life could get grueling on you when you want them around.
5. Professional singers One word - Diva... and just to add HIGHLY into their music and purely into using others.

I'm adding another to the list and it sort of ties in with #5

6. Actors -- Just can't stand anybody really working in media (behind the scenes is fine: i.e. writers, artists) and I am really annoyed by all the egos attached to their lifestyle when it revolves around NOT getting that part. lol Sorry just can't really go there anymore.

Suggestions? I really like Chefs. They are artists and take their work very seriously. Others too, but these people are the ones I have the most in common with.

Maybe someone who you'll know you strike a fancy with. Try going out there more. You won't find it in the gym that's for sure. All the people on your list mostly go there but look around the area, there must be some things you like. The best way to meet people is just to live your life, live in your interests. Surely there's someone in your position trying to do the same.

1. Police men.

Haha....yeah, seriously. I was married to three of them. So, I KNOW what I'm talking about. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for the record, the issue isn't always cheating. They have serious control issues that can be too much. And, like Mariah said, they are WAY paranoid. They trust no one. It's not their fault. That happened to me, too. It took a long time for me to realize not everyone was a criminal.

The subject line was a bit confusing, as it doesn't really seem to have anything to do with the question. But no, I don't really focus on careers when it comes to choosing someone to date.

I agree. I think its a waste of money if your going to join a gym and are worried about the guys there. It's dog and pony show most o the time. Invest in a pair of dumbbells, a balance ball, and a Nordic track like I did:)
