I think it is Altec-Lansing, headquarters and R&D in PA.

Never mind, under Designed in USA there is a very small label saying Made in China. So I bought an expensive import. Maybe I saved an R&D job though!

Isn't that funny! Being a part of the food chain from a manufactures point of view gives me the heads up on how things are really made and who makes them. BTW your little computer speakers are very good sounding indeed for the money. I'm assuming you got the little 2 speakers and the sub outfit. I have givin these as gifts to several of my friends who were hunting for a decent setup for little.

As an example, I know a company here in the states who do make a speaker setup similar to the ones you have and the price tag is 10 times the price of the ones you purchased. To top that off their drivers are still not American but Danish. I had a talk with them about a project and they were telling me that they are looking to build in china as well. It's all a balancing act and the more we understand it the easier it is to see how the "world market" can work together to make life easier for all. The government and other sources do not do a good job of telling the story when they say buy American. All of this talk needs to turn into a positive movement instead of the fear poison that just isn't there. Here's another example. Those of you who sew, do wood working and many other crafts and those who buy these hand built in the USA are under the impression that your goods from the ground up are from the states. Go to your local lumber yard THD or Lowes or the others that have buy off the shelf raw lumber. Look on your Ponderosa Pine (the most widely used pine in the US) and see the fine print that says harvested from Brazil or Argentina. Look where your blades are made, brushes, rollers, finish ingredient so on and you will have a different picture painted.

The entire world folks is looking for the best for the least, period. Americas noise makers need to be telling the public the truth and not turning everything into a campaign speech. The truth is even the Amish buy foreign. I know, my first factory was run by the Amish. The pictures we paint of right and wrong are usually nothing more than well written propaganda use to make us feel Superior in some way. With a little investigation we can truly see what does make us superior, the freedom to explore the truth. The freedom to not judge. The freedom to bring in the many mixed cultures. We also have the freedom to figure out how to fix our problems in light of the truth and not the government version of the truth. My heart goes out to every politician who walks into office with a pure heart to only find out that they have to speak half truths if they want to continue. We need to put a stop to the distortion of history and admit our mistakes and victories the way they really happened. Our country is the best example in the world of a bunch of misfits doing something extraordinary. A group of people destined to break down the barriers of the close minded. When we become those close minded is when we stop being America.

Somehow, someway we have to get to the bottom of why our government is not working. Why have we turn debates into blockades. We the people deserve to have our country run based on our wishes as a collective instead of grid lock. We have become non-decision makers, procrastinators and seekers of self instead of seekers of the truth. Every 4 years we choose one of 2 sides and believe in neither according to our polls. We have made a country that lies to the small businessperson and it has put them out of business. I'll tell you what the banks should be doing. They should be taking those empty houses and buildings and turning them into small businesses governed by the local county that are able to operate tax free for the first 5 years. City commerce should be made of an independent cast of characters not tied to national or local politics. When politics got involved on the local level this is when the decline started and we should throw it out and go back to the independent practices that put us on the map. Our government is lopsided and we are the only ones who will change this. How many excellent people do each of us know that have had to give up on their dream? Tons! And if those people were around today to serve us would we buy from them? You bet!

the commentary continues

Lets buy American, but lets know what American is.

Thank you Old H for taking the time to look at your products for me. Your a good man. And made a wise purchase

Dear St. Nick,

I don't want much this year, I just want the person reading this to be HAPPY. Friends are the fruit cake of life --- some nutty, some soaked in alcohol, some sweet, but mix them together and they're my friends. At Christmas you always hear people talking about what they want & bought. This is what I want: I want people who are sick with no cure to be able to be CURED. I want children with no families to be ADOPTED. I want people to NEVER have to worry about food, shelter & heat. I want PEACE and LOVE for EVERYONE!

Another thing you can do is donate money to electric companies program, fuel oil, and gas in another person's name and give them a card with, "I donated such and such amount in your name for needy families program." Etc. I have done this before.
