Topic: Penn State Sex Scandal: Joe Paterno to Retire | |
---|---|
It has to be very difficult for someone to believe that a man they had known for 30 years would be stupid enough to commit that type of crime in a locker room shower. If you didn't personally see that type of action would any of you really be so fning willing to accuse someone you knew that long of a crime like this? You didn't see it.. remind you.. Yes, I get that. But, if someone who did see it told you about it, wouldn't you at least have it followed up on? And even if that meant just telling your boss, wouldn't you follow up on that to find out what happened? Especially when it had to do with a kid? |

Wow. That came as a shock, even though their really was no choice to be made I think it was clear. It's just to bad to see such a good person make one misjudged call and then this.

He told the athletic director and the vice president of the university. Sandusky was NOT working for Paterno in 2002 when he was told. The only reason Sandusky was even on the campus was because he negotiated an office in the athletic complex be part of his severance package when he left the team in 1999. |

I'm actually not surprised that he was fired. Yes, he made a bad judgment on how to handle this, but keep in mind, it was about child abuse. You really can't just let that kind of thing go and hope someone else takes care of it. |
