I prefer a picture with shirt on. Sexy does not require bare flesh. If guys want to impress, wear a smile with that shirt, be respectful, and actually have a conversation (no jumping to sex offers.). That is ultimately much sexier. (At least to me, I won't presume to speak for everyone).

Well put Machug bigsmile

om-line profiles and pics mean nothing to me....anybody can write what they want...For me to believe....I rather speak first by either Im or e-mail then meeting face to-face....

If ya got it..flaunt it.

Skin is just skin. From what I can tell, seems to me that the people who ain't comfortable with thier own bodies are the ones most repulsed by the ones who know they look good.

If someone has nice eyes, they shouldn't have to hide them behind shades.

If someone has a nice smile, they shouldn't have to wear a hockey mask to hide it.

If someone has nice hair, we don't expect them to put it into a bun.

God forbid that someone with a nice body doesn't have the courtesy to hide it under a mumu.

If you REALLY wanna see what these ladies think of shirtless men....go look at the birthday threads. There is the inevitable posting of shirtless shaven gay dudes and ALL of the women go crazy over em.

I have commented on this before in the NEW SEXY and stuff. One) they are not men, they are usually boys. Two) The guys I know who look that and wax themselves in Los Angeles, not interested in women. I have said that before.

Good abs don't just happen genetically. A man or a woman, who happen to have them, have dedicated countless hours of hard work to develop this look. It's not the product of a New Year's resolution to "get into shape". People who attempt to liliputianize their hard earned gains, say more about themselves than the oject of their discussion.
In any event, whether a shirtless photo or a provocative, displaying pose; both genders' are simply displaying one component of what makes them who they are. It's not the only component, but be honest, its the initial attractant.

the guys with the good abs are usually athletes I have found and usually are not like "Hey look at my abs". They are usually busy telling you how they ran an Iron Man or something interesting like that.

I don;'t particularly care for shirtless pictures - it causes me to wonder if the guy really has any substantial values or is just totally shallow

headless are even worse - totally shallow- I am not interested in someone so shallow that they are into the physical to the exclusion of all else - nor someone who doesn;t have a brain

I prefer the shirt on when looking through profiles. I will generally skip any without a shirt.

While I don't always go for shirtless pictures (it really depends on the guy) I could never assume that just because he's not wearing a shirt that he has no substantial values or is just shallow. Then again, I don't think that about women who show cleavage, either.

I agree with many of the ladies here, it's not shirt on, shirt off that gets my attention. I look at the smile and the eyes (a sense of fun and intelligence in them)...BUT!!!!! If a guy is shirtless and has a beautiful 6 pack, I lookin and I'm enjoying!!bigsmile

I think you need only look at the posts of the women here. Most seem to think the shirtless pic is not appealling.

If this were a fitness site, that would make lots of sense, but its a dating site and people will evaluate your pic with an eye toward dating. For some, the shirtless idea communicates only an interest in the physical. Lots of women are looking for something more than that, and as such will not be happy with a profile that appears to LEAD with body.

People still want attraction, but I am able to be attracted to a man EVEN when he is wearing a shirt.

Krupa, Im sure there is a percentage of women who are uptight about nudity, just like there is a percentage of men who are uptight about developing an emotional connection, but you cant put us all in that box. I like my body just fine and Im interested in sex, but I just want more. I want love and Im not going to find the right partner if all I use to qualify my potentials with is 'anatomically correct.' Efficiency would require an alternate starting point.

Ive actually seen men complain about the obligatory cleavage shot, when there is nothing else of interest in their profile, so it cant be limited to women.

This is exactly what I would have written if I weren't so lazy.

it's not really an assumption - it has been my experience over the last 3 yrs on here. A 5 year old has the skill to upload a picture that includes their face. it's that easy. and shirtless pics have been pandering for sex almost without exception in 3 years across several dating sites IME. I am simply less inclined to be interested in that particular type of man - if the shirtless is not a main photo, and he has something to say other than - hey hun wanna hump ma bun, then he might be OK
