Topic: Cain's Palestine Blunder | |
---|---|
To Palestinian ears, Republican contenders for the presidency can sound a lot like far-right Israeli politicians when discussing the Middle East. Most oppose concessions by Israel and advocate the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank. But now Herman Cain has managed to outdo even the most hawkish Israelis by referring to residents of the West Bank and Gaza as the “so-called Palestinian people.” The formulation appears to cast doubt on not just the Palestinians’ right to statehood but on their very existence as a nation.
Cain, the frontrunner among GOP candidates, invoked the phrase in an interview over the weekend with Israel Hayom, a mass-circulation Israeli tabloid owned by an American backer of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Asked about President Barack Obama’s Middle East policy, Cain referred to the Palestinian bid for U.N. membership: “I think that the so-called Palestinian people have this urge for unilateral recognition because they see this president as weak.” He also said Obama’s failure to firmly support Netanyahu “emboldened Israel’s enemies.” Cain’s remark raises further questions about Cain’s inexperience on foreign policy and his qualifications for the presidency. If elected president he will almost inevitably have to act as peacemaker between Israel and the Palestinians, as have all recent presidents. A businessman and former Washington lobbyist who has never been elected to any office, Cain has made a series of gaffes in debates and interviews on international issues, at one point last month dismissing “Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan” as a small and insignificant state. Hanan Ashrawi, a Palestinian legislator and former peace negotiator, said she was outraged by Cain’s remark in the Israeli newspaper. “Even the Israelis he’s pandering to know that the Palestinian people exist, so to refer to Palestinians as if we’re a figment of someone’s imagination is more a reflection of his own ignorance,” she said in an interview. “But we’ve become accustomed to such absurd statements during election campaigns.” Ashrawi said the influence of the pro-Israel lobby in Washington only partially explains the unadulterated support for the Jewish state among Republican candidates. No less significant is the power of evangelical voters who see modern Israel as the realization of biblical scripture. “The more extreme fundamentalist you are, the more you take the literalism of the Bible and translate it to extremist positions,” she said. Republican candidates have all criticized Obama for not standing firmly enough with Israel and most have made trips to Israel in the past year that include meetings with top officials and stops at Jewish sites and even West Bank settlements. Some analysts describe the standard tour as the “GOP hajj,” an ironic reference to the Muslim pilgrimage to the holy Saudi city of Mecca. The trips don’t necessarily raise the candidates’ support among American Jews, who vote overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates. But evangelical Christian voters notice them and so do those Jewish contributors who do bankroll Republicans. One of those contributors is the American casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, a supporter of Netanyhahu and fierce opponent of Palestinian statehood. Adelson owns the newspaper Israel Hayom, where the Cain interview appeared. In a foreword to the interview, the newspaper’s reporter gushes that “if the Republican Party candidacy were to be decided on personal charm and charisma alone, Herman Cain would coast to victory.” Cain spent several days in Israel in August, meeting with Israel’s deputy prime minister and other officials. Weeks later, he said in a GOP debate that as president, he would “make it clear to all the other people in the world that if you mess with Israel, you’re messing with the United States of America.” ********************************** I would say: If you want to mess with Isreal, that's YOUR business, NOT ours! |

I likewise oppose Palestinian Statehood because they use their ground to launch unprovoked attacks on Israel repeatedly. Israel's recent prisoner exchange was lob sided where one man was exchanged for over a thousand and just recently AFTER that exchange Hamas went right back to lobbing rockets at Israel who retaliated immediately. If this is going to continue I hope Israel pushes Palestine off of the map and tells the UN to go F themselves. Granted I WAS against Israel settling in the Gaza and the West Bank and Israel Had in deed stopped the settling and in some cases used military force to remove settlements. Israel has tried time and time again to promote peace but time and time again they are attacked and the attacker refuse to negotiate in good faith.
I do agree that we need to get our noses out of the affairs of other countries BUT if I have to chose a side Israel wins. The Jews are not out to kill me in a Jihad against all Non Jews. Also the republican party like the Democratic party is a huge let down and an utter embarisment to our nation but president Obama has no clue about foreign politics. Again I will mention that anyone preaching tolerance for Islam without reading their Quaran is ignorance. It is the same thing as saying Cancer is natural and we should tolerate it. Peace should only be extended to those who do not promote violence or subjugation. The largest problem is our government itself is failing us on all levels and both parties are an utter failure to the interests and security of America. Too many people are too eager and hot to point the finger at republicans while the Democratic party runs our nation into the ground. Obama spends WAY too much time blaming the republicans for his failures and his blatant lack of common sense and education in anything other than liberal arts and politics. At least Jews and Christians, Taoists, Buddhists, Sieks, and Satanics are not out to kill me. If Palestine was so hot for statehood they should prove to us they are interested in peaceful coexistence rather than allow Hamas and Islamic extremists to run amok in their nation using it as a platform to assault Israel at every chance. But again it is US voters who keep electing in these idiots from both parties. There are some Republicans and SOME Democrats who really do want to serve America but the rest (EASILY 80%) are career politicians who's ONLY interest is staying in office. Term Limits would cut down on these A holes mucking up our nation. Israel has a long history of being attacked first and even Egypt almost got nuked BY Israel for an attack Egypt launched on them during the Sabbath. Egypt was under the assumption Israel would not fight back on their Sabbath. Boy were they proven wrong. I do agree we don't need to fund Israel and we should cut off ALL foreign aid to EVERYONE! Not Just Israel. But the one thing I can agree with in this article is that Obama's actions and lack of action and his very own statements have emboldened attacks on Israel. There is proof of this in that after some of Obama's speeches attacks on Israel resumed. This lie needs to end. Israel has historic claim to the area LONG before Palestine even existed. If Israel takes Palestine out the Middle East will take them more seriously. Let us look at Tibet and the UN. What has the UN done to give Tibet back to the Tibetans? China NEVER had any claim to the region. China is committing Cultural Genocide. Who is crying out for the rights of the Tibetans? Tibet had no Military. They WERE a peaceful nation with no bone to pick with anyone and yet China rolled into them with tanks and displaced the whole population. I like peace but when faced with a belligerent nation there is only one course of action with two possible end results, Beat them into submission or wipe them out. Israel beat Palestine into submission only to have them turn on them repeatedly. Israel lives surrounded by nations hostile towards them. We don't. It is so easy for Americans to decry Israel's actions but what if we had to deal with the crap Israel has to deal with. |

Israel beat Palestine into submission only to have them turn on them repeatedly. Israel lives surrounded by nations hostile towards them. We don't. It is so easy for Americans to decry Israel's actions but what if we had to deal with the crap Israel has to deal with. I have followed a lot of news (not on the MSM) lately on this situation. Isreal has amazing power in the region because of US support, having NUKES, and foreign aid in the billions. They are systematicly trying to eliminate any and all Palestinians, destroying their homes, sanctioning them, taking away all freedoms, terrorizing, killing and maming them. It takes hours for them to go a few city blocks to get simple food stuffs for their families, they can't work, eat or sleep without fear, and most of the women will not leave their homes...... I don't know about you, but I would rebel against such atrocities to! ****************************** Summary of the Israeli atrocities in Palestine. In 2008, up to 27th Dec., the home-made rockets that Hamas fired into Israel killed no-one. In return the Israelis killed 400 children and 900 adults in Gaza. After the Israeli attacks Hamas rockets killed 3 Israeli civilians. The Israelis shelled clearly designated UN schools sheltering civilians and used white phosphorus against civilians, both of these actions are war crimes. USA supplied, free, the aircraft, helicopter gunships, missiles, bombs and bullets for these attacks and will block any international condemnation of Israel in UN. BBC - "I rushed back to find their dead bodies - or rather parts of their bodies - strewn all over the room. . . " BBC - Amnesty Finds Evidence of War Crimes TIMESONLINE - Amnesty International: Gaza white phosphorus shells were US made BBC - Israel troops admit Gaza abuses 5th Jan. 2009 People who are really evil are few and far between, and so it is with nations. By being evil I mean people or states who choose to indiscriminately kill, imprison, torture and inflict severe physical and mental pressures on others. Examples are Nazi Germany in the 1940's and the Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia in the 1970's. There are states and organisations in Africa and one or two other places that are evil, they slaughter anyone that comes in their way as they try to gain their desires. And so it is with Israel and U.S.A. In order to gain land for themselves the Israelis have driven the Palestinians from Palestine, from their farms, from their homes and they kill the Palestinians who object. The U.S.A., whose presidents depend upon the votes and influence of Jews in New York who support Israel, have always been ready to give the Israelis the weapons to enable them pursue this evil. In effect US foreign policy is determined by Israel. To support the Israelis the US blocks any attempt in U.N. by other nations to stop or condemn this evil. The U.S.A. is evil in its own right. Its invasion of Iraq, which brought about the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis was nothing more than an attempt to gain control of Iraqi oil. The US government distorted its laws and ignored international laws to allow it to imprison and torture any Iraqi, anyone, they wished. It was the same in Vietnam, only then over 2 million Vietnamese died. Quite simply Israel and U.S.A. are evil just as Nazi Germany and the Khmer Rouge were before them. Yesterday, as I wrote that, the Israelis were firing tank shells into a U.N. school in which civilians were sheltering. At least 40 were killed and another 55 wounded. As I said, Israel and America who provided them with the weapons are evil terrorist states. * The Guardian - Gaza's day of carnage - 40 dead as Israelis bomb two UN schools * The Independent - Robert Fisk: Why do they hate the West so much, we will ask - This is essential reading * The Guardian - Israel accused of delaying medical access to injured * The Guardian - Israel shelled Palestinians after evacuating them, UN says ------------------------------------------ 28th Dec. 2008 Once again I am ashamed to be British. As the world is horrified by the slaughter of hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza by the Israelis the British Government refuses to condemn the slaughter, or even ask the Israelis to stop the slaughter. Where is Tony Blair, George Bush's tame Peace Envoy? Perhaps he's too busy making money to buy one more fancy house, or in the confessional at his church. In Britain, on Guy Fawkes Night, (Nov. 5th), there were more casualties from fireworks than there has been all year in Israel from Hamas rockets. In 2008 not one Israeli was killed by these Hamas rockets before the Israelis started killing the Palestinians. (If any Zionist wishes to correct that please send me a list of the deaths of Israelis due to these rockets.) This destruction and killing is nothing to do with Hamas fireworks, it is an attempt to destroy the civil infrastructure of Gaza. Look at the buildings destroyed, the interior ministry, police headquarters, mosques and a university. Several years ago they did the same with Fatah and in doing so created public support for Hamas which brought about the democratically elected Hamas government. Gaza is the worlds biggest prison camp. Israel controls the borders and all that is allowed in and out of this foul, barren desert strip. Recently they have been restricting food, medicine and fuel such that there is extensive hardship and malnutrition in Gaza. Now The Israelis seem to have decided it is simpler to kill the Palestinians with bombs & missiles provided for that purpose by USA. For the Israelis it is like shooting fish in a barrel. The Israelis seem to accept that Hitler knew how to deal with unwanted people, perhaps Gaza should be re-named Auschwitz. Here are two reports from the British media. The Guardian and The Independent are newspapers of the highest quality, their reports will be 100% accurate. * Five sisters killed while they slept * Gaza Diary What sort of moral code justifies this slaughter by the Israelis and its approval by the US and UK governments? ---------------------------- July 2006 I feel I should be updating my website with details of the latest incidents in Palestine and Lebanon, but it's just the same as before. The Israelis destroying and killing while America supplies them with billions of $$ worth of bombs, missiles and aircraft. Israel has devastated Gaza and Lebanon, destroying the infrastructure and killing many hundreds of people, most of who are women and children. They are also targeting UN observers and Red Cross ambulances as well as convoys of civilian refugees trying to escape the bombing. These actions are undoubtedly war crimes. War crimes, does it matter, the USA will veto any criticism of Israel made in UN. Check out this BBC website to see what the Israelis have destroyed. Don't be misled by the Israeli talk of the rockets, home-made fireworks, fired by Hizbollah, they have killed less than 20 civilians compared to the several hundred Palestinians and Lebanese killed by the Israelis in the past few days. What started this? The Israelis, who have over 10,000 Palestinians & Lebanese held in prison camps, feel that it OK for them to devastate Gaza and Lebanon because Hamas has one Israeli prisoner and Hizbollah has two. I wondered if this was to be a smokescreen allowing the Israelis to bomb Iran, so far it hasn't been. I'm not much into countries having nuclear bombs but with such a belligerent Israel and USA who can blame Iran for wanting nuclear weapons to protect it's people. America is flying in more laser guided bombs, missiles and other weaponry as fast as Israel can use them. Sadly the USA/Israel Axis of Evil has been supported by the British Government which has allowed the aircraft carrying these shipments of bombs and missiles to refuel in UK. Even Bush's poodle Tony Blair has become a supporter of America's far right neo-cons. I see that Blair doesn't want a cease-fire, he wants the Israelis to have a more time to kill more Palestinians & Lebanese and to destroy more of the infrastructure before there is a cease-fire. I can not understand how British Members of Parliament who had humanitarian political attitudes in the 1980's have been so ready to support Bush's destruction and killings in the Middle East. I am ashamed of the British Government. Update, 31st July 2006 When I added the section above about the killings by Israel being the same old story I didn't realise how right I was. In 1996 The Israelis massacred 105 Lebanese civilians who were sheltering in a UN compound in Qana. Yesterday the Israelis used a laser precision-guided bomb to kill approximately 60 civilians, including 34 children who were sheltering in a building in Qana. Bush and his lap-dog Blair have repeatedly made it clear that they didn't want a ceasefire, they wanted the Israelis to have more time to continue their killing. Well, Tony, you got what you wanted. Are you happy now? And you British Labour MP's, you supported Blair throughout his lies and killing in Iraq, you let this evil genie out of the bottle, how much longer will you support his far-right, neo-con, murderous policies? F&%K Isreal! Is this what we want to be remembered for? |

Imagine if Saddams Iraq acted the way Israel does or even Khadafis Libya, we would bomb them back to the stone age. Iam amazed how the media spins the Israel story. Oh if only we had a real independent media. Its a small % who activly seek the truth hardly enough to change anything.
Our tax money hard at work supporting a country that undemines ours at every opertunity. |

Bearing witness to Israel’s latest lawless atrocities against Palestinians
19 Jul No 225 Posted by fw, July 19, 2011 “In Israel and Occupied Palestine, only Jews have rights. Arabs are denied them for being Muslims in a Jewish state, even on their own land.” Stephen Lendman This is the concluding sentence of Stephen Lendman’s blog post today entitled. Israel Terrorizing Palestinians Lawlessly. Stephen, a Chicagoan, now retired, is a blogger extraordinaire. He devotes his time to progressive causes and extensive reading and writing on a wide range of social, economic and political issues. He blogs at sjlendman.blogspot.com Here is Stephen, bearing witness in his own inimitable style, in what amounts to a log of the latest Israeli atrocities against Palestinians – Israel Terrorizing Palestinians Lawlessly, by Stephen Lendman, July 19, 2011 Stephen Lendman Palestinians bear witness daily to Israeli state terror. Complicit Western and regional nations, in fact, condone it through silence or failure to condemn what never is tolerable and must end. For nearly a week, Israeli aircraft struck Gaza preemptively. As a result, fear of a new war grows. Israel claims strikes follow rocket attacks. In fact, when launched, they’re few in number and respond to Israeli aggression in self-defense. On July 12, IDF jets struck alleged northern Gaza “weapons manufacturing sites,” injuring one woman. On July 13, three tunnels were bombed. Israel falsely blamed them for “terrorist activity.” Two Palestinians were missing after one of the tunnels collapsed. Later one body was recovered. Five or more other Palestinians were wounded. On July 14, other targets were struck, wounding four Palestinian civilians. On July 15, overnight attacks wounded four Palestinians, including two children. Over the weekend, other preemptive raids followed. Blaming the victims, a July 14 IDF statement said: “The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians, and will respond with determination to any attempt to use terror against the State of Israel. The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.” In fact, Hamas is Palestine’s legitimate government. Israel lawlessly terrorizes West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza residents preemptively, falsely claiming self-defense. On July 17, four new raids struck Khoza village in Khan Yunis, critically injuring two Palestinians and traumatizing dozens of children. Other same day attacks targeted Beit Hanoun, injuring seven Al Za’aneen family members, including four children – innocent civilians Israel calls “terrorists.” In addition, Israeli armored vehicles and bulldozers raided Gaza’s Al Bureij refugee camp, firing randomly and uprooting lands. The previous day, Israeli planes dropped thousands of leaflets, asking Gazans to spy on neighbors for Israel. They also warned of continued strikes, especially in northern areas. Gaza Emergency and Medical Services spokesperson Adham Abu Salmiyya said since early July, Israeli soldiers killed three Palestinian civilians, injuring at least 20 others, including six children. On July 14, Israeli naval forces attacked the Oliva, an international human rights monitoring Civil Peace Service Gaza (CPSGaza) boat offshore, nearly sinking it. On July 15, a second attack occurred, crew members saying an Israeli gunboat indiscriminately used water cannons and live fire, including on 11 fishing boats in the area. As a result, nine vessels were badly damaged. In addition, the Oliva was too badly flooded to continue. Fishermen rescued its crew, then towed the boat to shore, pursued by Israel’s navy to within one nautical mile of port. On July 11, after passing an anti-free speech bill, Israel’s Knesset targeted Balad MK Hanin Zuabi, lawlessly stripping her of parliamentary privileges. On July 18, the Ethics Committee prevented her from addressing the Knesset or vote in committees through the end of the parliamentary season because she participated in Freedom Flotilla I. Last July, other rights were lawlessly stripped, including her diplomatic passport, financial help, legal assistance, and right (Knesset members have) to travel freely to countries with no official ties to Israel. At issue, is Zuabi’s vocal criticism of Israeli policies. Last week, security officers forcefully removed her from the Knesset after interrupting Netanyahu’s speech, defending the new anti-boycott bill. In fact, Knesset practice lets members interrupt, raising issues or voicing criticism. An Israeli Arab, Zuabi was denied her right to do so. A Final Comment (on Freedom Flotilla 2; Growing numbers of Israeli citizens marching with Palestinians; and Settler violence against Palestinians) – Israel’s Freedom Flotilla 2 blockade Complicit with Washington and Greece, Israel blocked “Freedom Flotilla II – Stay Human (FF II)” boats from sailing to Gaza, or so it thought. On July 17, an FF II press release headlined, “French boat Dignite (al Karama) of Freedom Flotilla II leaves Greece,” saying: Departing on July 16, its 10 passengers “view themselves as (representing) the whole (FF II mission). The rest of the Flotilla’s ships have been detained in different Greek ports, through bureaucratic obstruction, sabotage, sudden restrictions and withdrawals of flags.” Dignite, in fact, represents past and future missions. Saying “Gaza, we are coming,” its message to Israel, Washington, and the international community is that initiatives won’t stop until Gaza’s illegal siege ends. The Swedish/Norwegian/Greek MV Juliano also hopes to sail. So far, however, it’s still blocked in the Greek island of Crete, per orders from Israel and Washington, determined to keep collectively punishing Gazan civilians illegally. Israelis march with Palestinians No wonder growing numbers of Israelis are voting with their feet and leaving. On July 15, hundreds of others joined with Palestinians (about 2,000 in total), marching in occupied East Jerusalem, calling for an independent Palestinian state. Among them were Hadash Party MK Dov Hanin and Meretz MK Zehava Galon. Starting from East Jerusalem’s Jaffa Gate, they followed the Green Line dividing East and West Jerusalem, ending at Sheikh Jarrah, a Palestinian neighborhood often attacked by Israeli settlers. In response, extremist Israelis tried to disrupt the march with an ineffective counter demonstration. Israeli settler violence against Palestinians On July 15, Reuters writer Tom Perry headlined, “Settler violence against Palestinians up 57 percent in the West Bank,” according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) saying: Palestinian officials call it “a worrying sign of deepening hostility which they fear could trigger wider violence as hard-line settlers increasingly appear to be a law unto themselves….” Coming from hilltop enclaves, they vandalize Palestinian property and commit assaults with impunity. PA minister Maher Ghoneim, monitoring settlement activities, says Netanyahu’s government represents settlements. Extremist Foreign Minister/Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman lives in one. “This naturally encourages” violent attacks. So far this year, settlers have stoned, run down, or shot at 178 Palestinians (killing three civilians), compared to 176 all last year. In response to Reuters’ request, Israeli police and army officials provided no information regarding the scale of violence. As a result, “(t)he role of Israeli security forces in dealing with settler violence is the focus of controversy.” B’Tselem says they do little or nothing to protect Palestinians and their property. Even when arrested, settlers get lenient slaps on the wrist, freeing them to commit more violence with impunity. At the same time, when Palestinians respond in self-defense, including by throwing stones, Israeli soldiers (if nearby) attack them with tear gas, rubber bullets, and at times live fire. In Israel and Occupied Palestine, only Jews have rights. Arabs are denied them for being Muslims in a Jewish state, even on their own land. |

![]() ![]() ![]() And you wonder, with this kind of Politics that you are expounding, and Ron Paul is pursuing that he can't get elected! Face it,Israel is about the closest thing America will ever get in the ME! Besides, most you have posted is outright Propaganda from Hamas and PA! |

It is quite interesting that we don't hear a Peep of what the Palestinians are doing!
Before chastising Israel, read the Charters of PA and Hamas! If some of my Muslim Neighbors here would lob Explosives in my Backyard on a daily basis, guess what I would do! And it wouldn't be pretty either! ![]() |

If I were the Israelis, I would blow them to kingdom come... exactly what the US would do if Mexico started lobbing rockets over the border with the hopes of killing as many as possible. Cain was right. The so-called Palestinians should not get a nation till they act responsible and deserve a nation. Many of the Hamas are outsiders who just hate Israel anyway. |

I dont think nation building has much to do with 'responsible' behavior or 'deserving',, its most about who can intimidate whom the most and who has the most money and political status,, |

Many cite the atrocities Israel commits but people seem to forget the atrocities committed against Israel. People forget how many times Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, and even Palestine have pulled on Israel. And let us not forget the slaughter of Israeli Athletes. God I find it amazing how so many forget what Israel has had to put up with. Now back to Palestine. Want to know why Israel refuses to let up On Gaza and the West Bank? Both are high ground and BOTH have been used to perform artillery barrages against Israel. More often than not EVERYONE has puled preemptive strikes on Israel only to find out those Heebs are willing to FUQUE them up over attacking them.
Sorry but I cannot side with Palestine since they still insist on Hosting Hamas. Palestine still insists on playing innocent while attacks are staged from their territory. And Iran supplies them with weapons capable of inflicting harm on Israeli citizens. It was Egypt that closed their boarder with them to prevent weapons from reaching Hamas and the militants they house. Suicide attacks are still staged from Palestine and likewise Palestine also has had training camps for terror attacks against Israel. If you want to blame anyone for how fuqued up things are there BLAME ENGLAND FOR DRAWING UP THE BOARDERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST! BLAME THE UN FOR THEIR LOPSIDED HANDLING OF THE PEACE PROCESS THERE! Yes we do contribute tot the problem but frankly Israel should shove Palestine to the sea TOTALLY! Quit finger pointing at Israel. Who traded over 1000 captured terrorists and militants for only one kidnapped soldier even knowing that most of them would return to the fight? Israel!!! Again if you wish to preach tolerance for Islam let me ask you, Have you READ a Quaran? If not read one before shooting your mouths off about your lofty ideals of peace and tolerance. Ignorance of facts gets innocent people killed. Who preaches Holy War (Jihad) at every turn? There is NO SUCH THING AS A PEACEFUL ISLAM! Doesn't what happens in countries like Indonesia, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, and many other predominately and Islamic Dominated nations? I mean just how ignorant are some of you? Some of you tout media stories but seem to disregard things happening to this very day that are presented in the news like the violence perpetrated against Christians in countries like Egypt POST MUBARAK! At least when Mubarak was president of Egypt attacks on Christians were not tolerated. Now it is wholesale slaughter of Christians at the hands of "Peaceful" Islamics. Again the degree of intellectual ignorance is astounding me. It only proves to me how ignorant and jaded so many people are about the situation there. Some of you seem to think just because you got a college education you know everything like a 14 year old does. Most of you have not even visited the area let alone know anyone who has been there or lived there. Hell, I have met Afghans who wonder why we even waste our time in Afghanistan. They feel we should let their homeland burn itself down! |
