nothing like mottling of the skin and your organs shutting down to get the sweet smell of dying flesh!!!

What " shot by jealous husband, of a much younger woman as I am going out the window" is not peaceful?
"Having a massive fatal heart attack at the culmination of some wonderful sex" not peaceful.
Well don't want to be shot, but can thing of lots of other ways to go.

Wouldn't it be nice to just decide ... to one day take off your earthsuit and move on without it ... no pain, no fanfair, no long goodbyes ...

Right now I have 2 patients that are palliative. It's not pretty!!! I turn them every 2 hours, give them morphine for the pain, swab their mouths with water, they do not eat or drink. Its the most horrifying thing to watch someone die because they don't usually die quickly. I'm waiting for the mottling of the skin, the shallow breathing, the smell of rotting flesh.....so they can go in peace.
