Topic: Remember The 80's?? | |
---|---|
GREAT TIMES!! Long hair, ripped knees in the jeans (and other
places...lol), hot pink and neon clothing that would hurt Stevie Wonder's eyes (NOT saying anything bad about Stevie!!), Headbands, wrist bands, Judest Priest, Motley Crue and Poison written on your Denim Jackets, The ever so popular "Jams" that made you look like you just got back from Hawaii, The wonderful horror flicks that came out (and actually made you jump), High Top shoes laced VERY loose and not tied with the tongues sticking WAY over the bottom of your pant legs, haircuts that were short and you had this BIG LONG tail that came to the center of your back (I think they were called Rat tails but, can't remember), Mike and the Mechanics, Thompson Twins, Huey Lewis and the News, Simple Minds, NWA, 2 Live Crew, Twisted Sister, Duran Duran (I could SO keep going with this music list!!) There's SO many cool memories of the 80's!! Do share your best memories!!! |

very much that's memorable about it either lol |

does anyone remember benny and joon or fraggle rock?... no one seems to
remember those, yet they were my greatest memories, given i was born in the 80's, but it was the early 80's |

i hated most of the clothes and alot of the music. they weren't that bad
but i am only 30. they didn't seem that bad until they were over. life was different back then. there were crooked people but there didn't seem to be as many of them. |

My ex was the fragle rock fan. I was a smurf fan and had most of the figures(not all of them made but all 101 smurfs) and a few of those mushroom houses. I had about 300 pieces. These items were lost to our house fire a few years back. The music scene was very split for me. The POP music nearly all sucked. The heavy metal side though really came to life in the 80s. What about the music videos back then? The clothes sucked. Anyone watch "The Wedding Singer" lately for it 80s fashions and music. Try finding something that a red head looked good in with all those bright colors. Our light colored skin reflect the color of our clothes. I had a green shirt and every time I wore it I wouldf get comments are you sick. I needed my earth tones and had a very hard time finding cloths. I had a blue jean jacket with several band patches put on it. That is something I wish was still in style. |

|
WHO CARES IF IT'S NOT IN STYLE MAN!! Wear it anyway man!! LOL!! Let
people see that you're still HARDCORE!!! |
|
|
|
If I could get the stuff to replace it I would. Those band patches are hard to get. It was something else lost to fire along with the original release of Paranoid by Black Sabbath LP. Sometime you do not know what you got until its gone. |

I loved the 80's and still do, though the last few years of it was kind
of a blur..way too much weed(clean now)..yeah I took Fast Times At Ridgemont High way too seriously lol Benny and Joon was one of my faves and the whole "brat pack' movies, like Sixteen Candles, Prety In Pink ect. The music well yeah I went with every phase there was but really got into the metal, still into metal now. What bothers me the most now is when you tune into a radio station and they say is "Retro Night" and play stuff from the 80's...come on its not that long ago i isn't retro yet...is it?? Cartoons...Inspector Gadget, He Man, Smurfs, Fraggle Rock( god I loved Uncle Travelling Matt),Rainbow Bright,Strawberry Shortcake. 80's tv....Miami Vice, The A Team, Knight Rider, Magnum PI, Square Pegs,Dukes of Hazzard, BJ andthe Bear...ahh good times my friend good times. Music wise...Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Van Halen, The Scorpions,Motley Crue,Ratt,Poison,Iron Maiden, Ozzy,MegadeathJudas Pries..anything that would make my parents crazy LOL...thanks Tryin To Fly for the trip down memory lane :) |

Yeah, unfortunately I went from Motley Crue, Poison, Skid Row, Pantera
(even though I still listen to them), RATT and Bon Jovi to Cradle Of Filth, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Lamb Of God, Slipknot, Children Of Bodom, DevilDriver and so on. Well, I guess not unfortunately because I f@#kin LOVE this music now!! Even though in my opinion, Skid Row was pretty heavy for their time. Wait, was Skid Row 80's or early 90's, I can't remember? I'll have to look at the year again. Horror movies went to freaky as hell and gory to....well....just gory but, I guess these days we don't get the choices. Hmmmm....the government must write horror flicks too!! |
