I am thinking he may be referring to getting a disciplinary whipping. At 20....you always got the option of leaving. The last time I got whipped was at 15. My brother got his last whipping at 16...Dad told him to take out the garbage. My brother said "No" Dad told him to go get the belt. My brother said "I am too old for you to whip me"........he was wrong. Yep, pretty well was the same in my house. I believe in discipline personally and I would never mouth off to my parents. Now, I just heard of 11 year old kids beating up an 80 year old man for money and all they got was a slap on the wrist. I think discipline for children as well as adults needs to be enforced. |

I don't believe anyone has a right to inflict pain on another person. I see it to be wrong in any aspect. I agree with Krupa.. leaving is a option that should be pursued.

I used to believe that exact thing PyxxieBaby..... Then I got home from vacation and found that my home had been burglarized by a friend of 16 years. Wiped me out. Some things don't merit forgiveness. Some things deserve a viscious beating. Now, I do believe there is a proper time and a proper place to beat the living crap out of someone. (basically: off camera) But, when left to my own ways...I follow positivity. |

(basically: off camera) But, when left to my own ways...I follow positivity. Understand the pain.. but I have to stick with two wrongs don't make a right.

Had a similar experience Krupa,,except it was my sister in law wiping out my mother in laws house at christmas,,, my then husband ended up in jail for a few days behind the 'beating' he gave her. She didnt go to the hospital , or have anything broken, and her pretty face was still pretty, but it put the fear of God into her and she never pulled that stunt again. |

Flogging is archaic and inhumane, Those countries that still renounce that type of punisment are not progressive and typically into the women being the victims. I do not respect any country who uses this course of action as it is so detrimental to forward thinking.

I suppose it depends upon the instrument use and on what part of the body and the potential for long term harm. I find a grown up spanking no more archaic than our penal system or our death penalty. |
