Topic: A letter I am sending to my bank over the debit fee | |
---|---|
October 19. 2011
Dear Bank Administrators, This letter is for your information. No response is expected or needed. The reason that a $5 or $3 dollar debit card use fee is too much at this time is not because the fee amount is too much. It is a myriad of things that make this fee nauseating and intolerable. First off, is the Bail Out that went to the banks who were doing wrong to end up needing a bail out and some of which used the bail out to pay incentives to their top employees. Second, is the fact that banks are "too big to fail" and cause economic down turns which do not effect them almost at all but make it terribly hard for their customers to live day to day. Thirdly, is the economic down turn that has it hard for the average customer to live day to day. Despite some law makers/hopeful law makers belief, which this is not meant to be political, just mentioning it in case bank administrators are buying into it, unemployed and poor do not choose to be that and it is not their fault for the economy sucking as it does. But the banks may have contributed to it. All that said. Most Americans do not want a free ride nor are they expecting corporations and big banks to stop doing what they do but it would be nice for them to consider the conditions of society/their base customers for a minute when making their bottom line. All which explains why I might choose going to a credit union instead of utilizing the bank that has had my business for almost twenty years if that is the choice I make over a $3 fee to use my debit card. I thank you for your time and consideration to this letter and again no response is needed. Sincerely, |

Hey, the reason that I protest the stupid fees are because THEY ARE TOO MUCH There is no reasonable justification to charge people for access to their own money. I hope some smart people just start a new more reasonable bank which is content to make money the traditional way through lending. Then everyone will have an alternative. What a bunch of AZZ drips!! |

I hate banks. First, your money is not really safe in the bank these days. Anyone who has your bank account number can send an electronic check through your bank and they hardly look at it twice. If you don't notice it, too bad.
Anyone who gets a fake judgment via a dishonest process server or a fake one, can take your money right out of the bank. Anyone who has your debit card number can run charges through your bank also. The new technology allows for cyber criminals to wipe out your account if they have your information and some can't be traced. Fees and charges from banks and credit card companies are ridiculous. |

I've got an idea!
Close your bank account, cut up your debit and credit cards and start using the old currency from the past..... CASH!!!!!!! Accepted almost everywhere and easy to store..... Keep it in your pockets, wallets or mattresses..... It's a very old concept but effective..... You retain your wealth..... Banks and corporations fail.... |

The last time I had a bank account was in May of 1993 at which time I switched to a credit union and have been with a credit union since. I saw the writing on the wall then and got out before I paid $.01 for any sort of fee that they would dream up. |

If my bank started to implement this practice, I would start looking into another bank.

The glitch in that is that money has no real value. Its just paper. There is no gold exchange involved. When the banks fail, will money be worthless? |

I saw the writing on the wall then and got out before I paid $.01 for any sort of fee that they would dream up. Hell yeah! I stayed with credit unions my whole life, except when I needed a safety deposit box. Credit unions are the way to go, for many reasons. |
