I understand that.. My daughter was a navy girl 12yrs and always volunteered to work so those with kids could be home... We missed her at Xmas but understood.. Thanks for your service and come home safe..

Yep, I think Christmas is a farce. Its all about greed and glutenay; not too mention how nasty people get fighting over gifts or parking spaces. It truly sucks.


The entire world has been sucked into consumerism. I got rid of my TV, I no longer send Christmas Cards. I do have a special Dinner with my family but that's it. It is a totally mad time of year when it should be entirely peaceful. Most people are glad when it is all over. ...


I do have my brother and friends over for dinner but I do that about once a month. Sometimes we have dinner at Christmas and sometimes we just do breakfast; or don't do anything at all. Guess it depends on our mood, how cold it is, and how icy the streets are.

There is nothing special about Christmas Time any more, not even for children. One of my Grandchildren had his 7th Birthday last week and he got so many presents it was ridiculous. He will get as many presents again at Christmas in 1768 hours(looked that stat up on Google). Of course we have Halloween before Christmas, then its Valentines day,next its Easter.....it goes on and on and all in the cause of consumerism...We are better off material wise but there is a distinct lack of happiness in the world today. All that and I haven't had breakfast yet...

I love christmas, it is heaps of fun, yep I love presents and surprises, I love giving and sharing, I love having my family and everyone around me, i love leaving gifts out for peole i dont know, i just love Christmas, but i love everyday, I love laughing and having fun with everyone.

My world is happy, just because I want it to be..

I think there is happiness in the world but most people think it has to come with a price tag. Personally; I tell everyone to save their money to pay their bills so they don't lose their homes, cars, etc. rather than wasting money on me.I know people struggle to pay their bills in January and still being in a recession; one never knows if they will even have a job in January. I have everything I want so gifts are not necessary. The only gift I want from people is to spend time with them; even if it is just having coffee.
