Good evening, Texas! I am not doing ANY home improvement tonight. The wall is painted and textured, I have my new PC "hutch" (translate converted coat closet) set up with my PC (yes, I'm there now) and can watch TV and Mingle at the same time! This is LIVIN!

The very first home I've ever had with a COAT CLOSET is in Houston (where I need lots of coats - NOT!) I converted this to a desk/pc cubby and it's working great!

The back wall was originally papered and had 20 years of paint-overs. I added insult to that injury with some bright paint last year but was DONE with it, so I stripped the paper, textured the wall and went a little more "Zen" cuz possums like quiet nesting spots.

Okay, I can't get the photos to stay rotated so you'll have to have a beer and they'll look JUST RIGHT!

I love it!! Was the coat closet hard to do? I want to do something like that for my son's new study. It's a long closet, with sliding doors. Have any ideas??

Thank you. I am very happy with it all.

Strip out the rod, paint it something cheerful, get an electric outlet and shelves installed. I used those double track brackets from the hardware store and pre-finished melamine (?) shelving cut to fit. The "desk" part is 2 shelves. A bar stool fits underneath and the closet closes - and is appropriate seating if you are having to do that "drink a beer so the photos stay upright" thing...
