How about we make plans for a mingle meet sometime during the renaissance festival? Its suppose to run for like two months, I think... It would give lots of people time to mark their calendars.

Festival Information
The Texas Renaissance Festival is the Nation’s largest, most acclaimed Renaissance theme park. Open to the public every Saturday, Sunday, and Thanksgiving Friday, October 8th through November 27th, and to students for School Days, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 1nd and 2rd.

The enchanted 55 acre village comes to life as all of Europe comes to pay homage to the King and Queen with Eight Themed Weekends. Sounds good...I just sent an email to the festival people asking if their is a campground nearby if people want to bring tents and make a night out of it. I will let you know when they reply.

I googled nearby campsites...and got nothing..none of them are rated nor is there much info. Anybody have another idea?

Camping at the Texas Renaissance Festival

Location: The far west side of the patron parking lot under beautiful trees. First come - first serve. No reservations required. No generator restrictions in main camping area. Follow signs and directions from peace officer on duty. Enter through North gate. Spaces are not marked.

Cost: There is a $20.00 charge per vehicle to camp with purchase of festival tickets.

Facilities: Porta-Privies are available. No water, electricity or dump stations are available. Please do not dump residue on our grounds.

Fires: Absolutely NO FIRES outside of the designated fire pit are allowed. "Coleman type" lanterns and stoves are acceptable. Please do not store flammable objects in your camping area.

Pets: NO PETS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME!

Garbage: Please do not litter our grounds. You are responsible for removing your own trash. Please do not put garbage in Porta-Privies.

Security: The grounds are patrolled regularly by police officers. For issues, Security can be reached at 832-482-5651.

Hours: The campground is open from 10:00 AM on Friday until 9:00 AM on Monday. The campgrounds will also be open on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving) at 10:00 AM.

Weapons: We do not allow concealed weapons on Festival grounds. Any swords, rapiers, edged or pointed, etc. that are worn as a part of your costume MUST BE SHEATHED AND PEACE TIED. You can secure them with leather straps or zip ties. No unsecured weapons will be allowed into the Festival site.

Quickie Mart: The Quickie Mart will be open in the campground. Ice, drinks, snacks, etc. will be available.

This is what they offer on site...Myself I'm not a camper so if I'm able to make it I would be doing the nearest motel....bigsmile
