Topic: jail or minimum wage? | |
---|---|
i just saw a story where a 63 yr old man robbed a bank and then handed
the money to the gaurd and waited to be arrested. his reasoning was that at his age it was tough to find a job so he did it so that he would be taken care of til his social security kicked in. if you were faced with that situation, what would you do? |
That easy... I would rather have my freedom.
me too but i brought it up because there a re people out there that
would rather go to jail. |
The fool should have run with the money. Knowing his luck, by the time
he retired, they will deny him his S.S. |
I've lived a lot of places where the homeless would commit lesser crimes
just before the holidays so they could get thrown in the tank and get a warm place to sleep and a few good meals |
yeah but that's different. they don't have a place to live or a job.
this guy chose jail over tryin to get a minimum wage job |
at 63? I dunno ask me in another 24 years lol
Again, this is off topic a bit but talk about crazy reasons for going to jail. There was a guy in Germany last year that was before the judge for unpaid fines totalling a whopping $45. The judge gave him the option of paying the fine or 2 weeks in jail. Buddy picked the jail time cuz he said he needed a break from his wife lmao |
i would have done the same thing the old man did... if you read it
again, it says that he handed the envelope to the gaurd, and said qoute, unquote.. "on this day, may 1, is your day to be a hero", and it works out perfectly, for everyone, except the cops who have to do all the paperwork |
So he's senile.
not really, he reqeusted 3 yrs and the judge gave it to him. when he
gets out he'll be eligible for social security. in the meantime he gets meals and a bunk. i don't know if they will make him pay fines and restitution or not. |
He's still dumb. There are probably some programs he could have gotten
on and now he's going to be someones bitch. |

When I was in the Marines I was assigned to Key West Fl as a translator
for all the Cuban exodus courtesy of Fidel Castro. We know Fidel was emptying his prisons and jails prior to sending normal folk over so alot of those people were overnight offenders. I met a 12 year old boy who set a cop car on fire and he said I got my ass whooped and thrown in jail and 2 days later I am in the US and it was worth it. Saw alot of people like that so yes people do the darndest things for a specific purpose. |
he sure won't be paying restitution, it's not like he kept the money and
no one got hurt. I actually feel bad for the old guy to be that desperate for food and shelter |
so you can teach me some combat moves.
wats good wit you ghost?
Hey I'ld rather live under a bridge then take it up the poop chute.
I think this guy did it because he didn't want to work for some teenage
manager at some fast food joint and have people belittle him like so many people nowadays. So I kind of get the idea of why he did it. But me, honestly, in I was in that situation, I would say, "Fuck it", take a shit job, and go back to school. |
as far as restitution i was thinking more along the lines of court fines
and stuff. i don't know how prisons do it but county jails in michigan charge $60 a day while incarcerated. |
i'm with you kooldude. i understand why he did it, i wouldn't have done
it though. |
$60 bucks a day??? Chee-rist, I'd rather get a cheap motel room and live
off take out, I'd still have money left over fer alcohol lmao. Now the question is, if he chose to go to jail cuz he can't get a job, how the hell is sposed to pay for his stay at the crowbar motel? |
