Kody had a few seizure episodes in the past month. We went to the pediatric neurologist on Wednesday. The doctor is order blood work for him. I asked that they check his levels in his liver. When I looked over the paperwork after I returned home, I noticed something different and unusual in the paperwork. The doctor ordered a Chromosome Microarray Analysis. I am wondering if they are looking for the X chromosome mutation of some sort within my child. I startd reading about FXS and the X chromosome mutations. These child seem to have many difficulties based on the type of mutation and protien deficiency type.

I hope your neurologist is very thorough. My son has something called Lowe Syndrome which is an x-linked genetic disorder. I thought they were testing him for Fragile X at first since the symptoms of Fragile X are very similiar to Lowe syndrome. We went through several medications before the seizures finally got under control. I hope your son can get the answers he so deserves.

What a beautiful child, and I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Out of curiosity is he on any sort of anti-seizure medications? I'm on both Keppra and Dilantin, I'm not sure what I'd do without them.

I'm on both Keppra and Dilantin, I'm not sure what I'd do without them. He is on Topomax, Klonopin, and Risperdal......Dilantin didnt work for him at all, one of the first they tried. I haven't tried Keppra. I was really worried about the depression and suicidal thoughts side affects with Keppra. My son is very susceptible to the side affects of many of the medications. The risperdal helps with the aggression from the Aspergers.

I have heard a few bad things about Keppra, but my neurologist said it was used best in conjunction with other ant-seizure medications. I hope and pray that they get everything figured out.
