You guys don't even want to know what my neighborhood is like...

From the majority of out-of-shape cigarette smoking gossipy, cell phone toting, head up their butt, {oblivious to the world around them } state workers
to the career ghetto professional crooks who take anything that isn't bolted down, and then some...

People who do not have any dealings with many street people on a daily basis think they are so poor and helpless,
and some are...
But others have no less income than many of the rest of us, they only want to prey on the emotions and compassion of other human beings who are being responsible with their lives...

It is mass cigarettes and car fumes...and people using our alleys and yards as a bathroom and a garbage can...

And here I am, a wildflower of a lady growing a beautiful garden with praying mantis, ladybugs, scrub jays, sparrows and morning doves, right in the middle of the noise, pollution and insanity....
What a dichotomy...yawn

I love where I live. My neighbors all have their own houses and live far apart. It is great to live out in the boonies and far from civilization.

Must be nice, HillFolk...
I used to live in the hills...
with lots of distance between neighbors...
It's so beautiful...Cherish it with all you have.

Oh, I do Rapunzel. I used to think the city life was the only way to live. I just couldn't wait to get away from the country because I thought it was so boring with nothing to do. Then I lived in the concrete and asphalt jungle with houses so close that everyone knew your business and you couldn't fart without pissing someone off. I had a gut full of city ordinances. I guess I just am not civilized enough to live in civilization. I prefer the wilderness because I am still wild.

I have been blessed to find and actually live in an incredible neighborhood. I will stay here the rest of my life. My house is on a lake. Our community has 4 golf courses, a clubhouse with a work out facility, pool table, ping pong table, big screen TV, a large swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, a marina and a huge beach cabana 3 miles away. It is very peaceful, but drive 3 miles and there is The House Of Blues and Alabama Theater. I love it here!!

Sounds nice if you need all that stuff, MBCasey..
Different strokes for different folks...
Sounds too yuppy for me...though..
I don't need or want all of that stuff...
Give me an old fashioned house with character and charm,
with wood floors, a big, creaky wooden porch
that wraps around the house,
with a couple of rockers and some straight chairs too,
to sing and play music alone or with friends,
and watch the sun go down.
A swing out in the yard swinging from a big tree...Yea....
I love to ride mountain bikes and take moonlit walks
and drives and watch the barn owls in flight at night...

I don't need all that fluff to make me and keep me happy.
But, to each his own, and some really like that kind of lifestyle... I am glad you like it where you are...

I live in the old Tower District, that name should say it all, but am lucky enough to live in a small pocket of nice clean houses and neighbors. I also have my privacy since I get the small mother in law house in the back, whoo hooo.
Copter buzzing around = close everything up and lock your doors. Gun shots = sleep on the floor that night. Cops cruising the neighborhood, = close it all up again, LOL. I live near an national airport, two blocks from the train tracks, which seems to have a blarring horn every 1/2 hour, major roadways, honking cars, blaring thier music, (thumpity thump) hahahaha, the Air national Guard, (which I do not mind at all unless they think it is funny to buzz us in the middle of the night and scare the bejeezes out of us, so ok, what did I miss? Oh and lock down anything you want to keep, don't feed the animals, i.e. punks, keep to yourself except for the older nicer folks, adn generally, CYA.
I'm happy camper.laugh

my neighborhood is pretty nice I live in a trailer park (the nice one in town) in a somewhat small town.. my neighbors pretty much keep to themselves but will say hi or wave or smile when you walk or drive by them... one of my next door neighbors snowblows our dirveway for us every winter and lets me park my car in her extra spot because of no on street parking during certain months so we bring her food all the time... before I moved out here I lived in one of the bad neighborhoods of Minneapolis, MN and hated it... I think every car I owned got broken into at one time or another.. one car got broken into 3 times in one week... there were always shootings in the summer time and sometimes right outside of my house...

I don't know , pretty sure I top off rapunzels~ we just had a drug bust around the corner...they got about 6 or 7 TEENAGERS selling crack and last weekend someone ran through the alleys shooting out windows with a beebee gun. Grown women fist fight out here cause their kids don't get along. Every day I tell my kids to be careful before I say goodbye or I love you. It's crazy!

Oh, you guys, I am so sorry...
I love you all...
Hearing about the terrible stuff you are going through,
also, makes it a little bit easier to deal with my own situation, knowing I am far from alone...
even like I feel like it sometimes....

I just feel so bad for those of you who still have small children, who have to grow up around such lowlife neighbors.

My children had it rough growing up, too...
Money is not everything,
and the love of it, is the root of all evil, so they say...
but the lack of enough money, causes big problems, too...

I will keep all of you single Moms in my prayers
and I will pray for those single Dads too,
who are also struggling to make ends meet...
and for God's beloved innocent, highly impressionable, vulnerable children that He so graciously put into our care...

I have little Grandchildren I worry about, too...
I know what you are going through...

Lots of Love and prayers to you...God Bless you...

les see; a mont ago I called 911 cause I was woke up at 4:30am to a ruckus going on ousdie my bedroomwindow (on the street). i looked out and saw a guy pull what looked liek a rifle, and take off on foot at a run trying to aim said rifle and shoot at the same time.

My neighbnor is being investigated by police cause her one drug dealer/pimp is wanted on felony drug charges. She found semen on her babys romper and turned my name in to be investigated.

The lady at the end of my street is the neighborhood gossip. According to her I have slept with 7 ladies in the neighborhood i the last five months.

The police are outside my house almost daily due to said neighbors.

When I called 911 the other week for a domestic issue, they answered, hello this is _______ 911 is this in response to the _____ at _____ address?

Oh, and I was drivinginto my neighborhood the other day and saw this real nice piece of arse (girl was wearing what amounted to a thong and biking top). As I got closer I realzed it was my parents 11 year old neighbor (distance can make a major differance in appearance lol). Her mom was sittign on theporch smoking a ciggarette knowing her daughter was dressedlike this.

Yes, on the week end... something usually happens... I live in a complex with four buildings and a outdoor pool in the courtyard -- now that its summer every *bleeping* week end the idiots are out there partying like they own they place... noway

But other than that its generally fine - and my immediate neighbours are ok.
