The subconscious mind will accept any suggestion if it is given it the right way. We are constantly being subjected to suggestions and some of them are very hypnotic.

How many times have we listened with fascination to wild eyed preachers about the end of the world spreading the fear of God to little children and asking if we have been saved by Jesus?

That is what I call spiritual terrorism. We see it all over the place. It is what atheists and scientists and logical people get so angry about.

There are extremes on both sides. There are the closed minded logical people who won't consider any of the possibilities, and they have to have scientific proof; and there are the fringe people who are prone to believe anything.

(I am both, but tend to be on the fringe.) My multiple personality includes a skeptic. I call her my inner skeptic. She screams "That's a bunch of bull chit!"

Some people just like to spread fear and panic, others just want you to click on their website ads so that they can make money. LOL

Its a wild and wacky world but we have to keep our feet on the ground.

Is the world itself in peril or coming to an end? I doubt it seriously.

All our lives and even all my mother's life there were stories of some comet coming that would be the end of the world. These ideas are of course fueled by the Bible and the book of revelations, which I'm sorry, sounds like it was written by someone who ate magic mushrooms.

Don't worry, be happy. Have faith.

Man as a species has been on this rock we refer to as Earth for a very short amount of time in relation to its age. We are a parasite with opposing thumbs. That is our only claim to mastery over all other animals here. We will one day pass from here. Unfortunately most of the animals will also. But some will survive and develop into the new rulers of this place. I take comfort in that thought.

It is an eat or be eaten world, where all living things must consume something for energy. We are guests here, and not very good ones.

And, this is precisely why I doubt the world is coming to some catastrophic end. I worry sometimes and pay attention to signs, but I try and keep this in mind.

I know this sounds weird, but here is a clue that the world is not coming to an end.

The people who own and run Hollywood basically are the same people who own and run most of the world, and they have connections to the secret information of the government I'm guessing....

..and if the world was really coming to an end... why would they be planning so far ahead next year's season television shows. LOL laugh laugh laugh

huh. i keep hearing it's a dog eat dog world but ya know what? i decided i'd settle the argument once and for all. i made it my full time job to search any information i could find on the topic. i surfed the internet, read every book i could find on the topic, even intervewed several biologists and anthropologists and after all my efforts i could not find one account of a dog eating another dog. not one, ever throughout history.

but i did conclude that we live in a dig sniffs dog's butt world.

Because the end of life or the end of world are both unverifiable mysteries it can be used to influence people to do what you want them to do. All you have to do is play to their fear well enough.

What the major religions have going for them is that there are so many delusional members that it seems like the "right" thing since the majority appears to be believing it.

Dangerous for all of us it is.

True, dogs don't eat other dogs.

They do, however, sometimes eat their owners.
