The recipe may be easy to come by but the red lion could be a little harder.

can't remember the name of a cook book I bought my son for Christmas last year, but I got it at Wal Mart...it had all the recipes of major/famous restaurants in it...great book...covers the entire United States.

Hot dog places are an after thought here in Texas...just offered at hamburger places..the best are made at home.

Good for you....but why a pop up trailer? Wouldn't a cargo trailer work better?

Having Vivian hanging out the trailer would sell the most ...
but back to the question. Most places used canned chili for hot dogs and most of them use chili sauce instead of chili. From my experience, Wolf Brand is better than Hormel and less expensive but I have Texas taste-buds. Wolf holds up better to cheese and onions. It also has a higher fat content which adds flavor. Considering your business venture, I would recommend you go to the following website and order one of each type of chili to do your own taste testing. If you plan to make your own chili, it will be more expensive and a lot more work. Good luck! I would like to do the "hot dog stand" too but I am much too lazy! http://www.shopfoodex.com/canned-goods-meats-stews-canned-meat-hotdog-chili-c-1944_339_255.html PS You can also "make it your own" by taking the canned chili or sauce and adding various flavors and spices to create whatever you want. It is much faster and more practical than cooking chili and generally more consistent. |

Good for you....but why a pop up trailer? Wouldn't a cargo trailer work better? Pop-ups already have plumbing and electrical. |
