My .02 I think it depends on the person and the nickname. My current guy calls me "doll" which I find endearing. But I have an ex who called me and every girl he ever dated Hun. When I found that out I told him under no circumstances was he to call me that again. It made me think that as long a he called everyone Hun he never had to worry about calling me the wrong name.
I think unique nicknames that mean something to just the two people are very sweet. |

I have never been called by my real name, except if my Mum was cranky with me, oh and by Anaconda now..
I love pet names, In Australia we dont normally use anyones first name, you are given a nick name as a kid and it tends to stick with you through life, mine was Josie, Jo Jo, Little Jo or smiley. I still get them now at 42. |

I can't speak for everyone...but, I can speak for me... "Baby" "Honey" "Sweety" "DollBaby" "Sugar" "Lovey" "Ma'am" "Lil Mama" "Sexiliscious" Those are all perfectly legitimate references to women as far as I am concerned. If they got a problem with it...then they (you birds) are the ones with the problem. Aint my fault when women have forgotten to remember what it is like to be treated right. I seriously wish everyone would just stand the hell up . the 'right' way to be treated is to be called by a pet name? aren't there any feminists around here. i most definitely am not one, but i could write some crap right about now. |
