Can you get a virus from opening any unknown email in yahoo or are you only susceptible if you open attachments to an email? Can a virus be hidden in the body of a regular email with no attachments.?

You indeed can BUT as long as you have anti virus protection and YOU SCAN IT BEFORE OPENING IT you can catch it before you accidentally do yourself.

I think Yahoo mail has a built in antivirus scanner. I know I've never gotten anything nasty from Yahoo before, but I also use Firefox add-ons to keep most scripts blocked.

You can get a virus from just about anywhere. Best to get the best virus checker you can find.

Usually right clicking the folder or file shows options, one of them being to scan the file.
