I think it's safe to say race means nothing to me since I have dated a black woman and an asian woman as well as my own race.

Personally, I think asian women (in general) are the most attractive, and Filipinas are some of the prettiest of all asian women (they got a lot of ethnic mixing in their blood).

And Alterette was told right. Asian women (in general) do find white men more attractive than their own men, though I think there are a few unspoken subtleties to that. I have questioned some Chinese and Filipinas on the same subject, and I was always told the same answer.

As far as whites being more interacially inclined, I think that depends on location and history. Spike Lee made the movie "Jungle Fever" about views on interracial relationships in the U.S. from the black perspective. In it, black men supposedly have a secret desire for white women, perhaps because for hundreds of years they were never allowed to even look at a white woman yet white men would have sex with black women with impunity. Meanwhile, in the movie, black women resent this "jungle fever" because it is as if they aren't good enough for black men, or perhaps black men just want to have white babies. In any case, it wasn't the best of Spike Lee's movies, but it is one of the very few movies made in this country which deals with interracial coupling from a black perspective. That alone makes it worth watching just for the views expressed within the movie.

Well here in Detroit...or suburbs...it looks to me like it's pretty much 50/50. The color of one's skin is not what is inside the heart...hopefully

In fact, in comparison to how black women are portrayed in "Jungle Fever", some of my Filipina friends have told me that Filipino men have a similar resentment. I'm not entirely sure why, though I have my guesses based on what I've been told. Truth is, there are cultural differences throughout the regions which may influence the perception. So, what applies in one area may not apply in another.

I'm a white American of English/Irish descent and through most of my life, I was attracted to men whose coloring was similar to my own.

Sometime over the last decade, though, my tastes have done almost a complete 180. I find Gallic features -- dark hair and large noses -- very appealing (Jean Reno...sigh) I also find men from India appealing. Even more so, very, very dark African men. I just find dark skin very beautiful. I would follow Djimon Hounsou to the ends of the earth.

I dunno, personally i see more black men with asian females, more than any other mix. I dont see too many asian men or middle eastern men dating out of their race. I think it has become more and more acceptable these days to date outside your race. more people are giving it a try. I had a crush on a couple different vietnamese guys when i was younger...they were just funny and smart and it made them very attractive to me.

In an open society, I think people are usually eager to try or explore other thigs, and that's what I have been experiencing since my adolecence. The most youngest people in North America do not care having relationships with their bros of different race or color.

To me it is sad to think that we are suppose to be so open minded yet people still judge by the skin color instead of what is inside. I have had "interracial relationships" and it was not as big of a deal to us as it was to the people around us. I lost a few so called friends because of my relationships, but they were not true friends if they wanted to be that ignorant anyways...
