When it comes to a relationship, if you had to choose between the two options below, which would be your preference and why?

A.To love?

B.To be loved?

was a time i would say to be loved...
all about me, what i want

over time i've seen the reward of
loving others much more rewarding

to love

Sorry, I have to agree with the guys ... either one is bad. I've loved when I wasn't loved in return; it's horrible. To be in a relationship where you're loved without returning love would be equally terrible.

So I choose all or nothing.

To love and not be loved is not love, and to be loved and not love is not love. Love is two ways, not one.

I agree with Tedi and Snuff

LOL I think most would agree, it’s all or nothing, but I purposely left out the "C" option just to add a degree of difficulty.

we can't love without expecting something in return?
well, that just isn't real love then is it?
love has no expectations
love makes no demands

i guess in my other post i was thinking more of a generic love
for the higher good sort of thing, than a love/romantic kind of way.

Can't have one without the other.

This is completely wrong. I was once in love with my Japanese tutor but she told me she was just using me to "fulfill her needs". I loved her and she didn't love me "though at one point before she knew I loved her she thought she loved me" it was all very complicated. Moving across the country is what saved me from almost a year of repeating heartbreak lol.

Thus I would just to be loved over loving if I can only choose one. Its easier to be the heart breaker than the heart broken.

Not sure what I missed....dang!!!!

I want to give and get love just like I want to give it. If thier love is anything less than the equal that is what you will give.....it is a one sided love.

We all require all the aspects of love.

(I am confused at how anyone could turn the original topic into a fight????????)
