Topic: Always too far! | |

On a global scale, Texas and Georgia really aren't that far apart. You should consider yourself lucky to at least be on the same landmass, or in the same country. Why is it considered lucky that they're in the same country? For one thing, chances are you both speak the same language For two-if you cant afford an airline ticket, you could always drive |

Yup. Here in Connecticut, I've seen many profiles on many sites where women don't want a 20 to 30 minute drive for a date. They expect to find someone within 5 to 10 minutes online. It's rather unrealistic, but I've been rejected just because I live 30 minutes away. I met a guy online, according to his profile he lived approx ten minutes away with red lights. after talking a few times and deciding to meet up---i asked him whereabouts were his cross-streets and turned out he did not live in the town he said he lived in, but more like a 30-40 minute drive away from the beach...where i live. We still met up and dated for about 6 months. I did not mind the distance considering how compatible we were. We are still friends but no longer dating. |

***Not looking for validation or anything, just an observation*** So I finally meet someone that I have made a small connection with, and would like to get to know better. One small catch. They live in Georgia and I am in Texas! Just my luck! Neither a validation nor an invalidation, but if I were a woman, I would not get excited about a guy with a small connection. Kind of a turn-off, actually. Size IS important. |

It's rather unrealistic, but I've been rejected just because I live 30 minutes away. Maybe it sounds unrealistic because it is unrealistic. I have been turned down for dates because she had to wash her goldfish, she had to declaw bancruptcy (who turned out to be her pet cat, Bankruptcy), she forgot she had preearranged a date with her guadian great-grandmother who she talks to through a seantist, and granny gets rather upset when she gets stood up. You do NOT want to upset a person who can walk through walls and make TV screens flicker. I met a guy online, according to his profile he lived approx ten minutes away with red lights. (In my mother's experience, if I can believe her, it is rather futile to date a guy who is living within close quarters of red lights. The guy loses his will to date.) after talking a few times and deciding to meet up---i asked him whereabouts were his cross-streets and turned out he did not live in the town he said he lived in, but more like a 30-40 minute drive away from the beach...where i live. (If this is the biggest lie you fed you, he's got to be somehow related to Presindent Lincoln.) We still met up and dated for about 6 months. I did not mind the distance considering how compatible we were. We are still friends but no longer dating. |

It says the guy had erred in saying where he lived much before establishing contact with you. So his problem was not that he was a liar. I just wonder what his considertation was to say the wrong thing about his location. His problem may have been creditors, one or more exes, pushers, collection agencies, outstanding warrants, or at best, at absolute best, a lower than rudimentary amount of knowledge of local geography. He may have been an immigrant, too, who did not speak the langauge well. I don't know, I don't know him. It's just a bit a curious to say he lives somewhere when he's likely 20 to 40 minutes away from that spot. (Twenty minutes away if he lives thirty minutes away from you in the same direction where he said at first where he lived; and forty minutes away if he lived in the opposite direction toward where the ten-minute away spot was.) |
