I wonder how the Lord feels to be the benificiary of that Pagan date?

I am not the Lord, or even just "a" lord, but at this stage of the game I sure would not say "no" to dating a Pagan.

mmm... Pagan date. (Hurriedly retires to his bedroom with a box of Kleenex and a tub of industrial-strength axel-grease.)

Scripture states that when the Wisemen left Herods court:
"and lo,the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.(Matt.2:9-10)
Jerusalem is only 5 miles from Jerusalem.
Why would Herod not have seen the Star(Bright object leading the way)
How could a Super Nova stand above a Stable.
Pick any star in the sky, and with a certainty, describe the one building it is hovering over.
It says the star went before them, not above them.
Then it says it stood over the place were Jesus was born.

I base my findings on the scriptures and the writings of Flavius Josephus.
Josephus states that Herod the Great died shortly before Passover in 4B.C.
Jesus was born while Herod was alive, but was present at the Temple after Herod was dead and his son Archelaus reigned in his stead.
(Matt.2:22)
Forty days afer Jesus was born,Mary with Jesus in her arms went to the Temple to make the required offering according to the Law of the Lord. (Luke 2:22) (Lev.12:2-4)
There she met Simeon and Anna.Simeon had been promised he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Christ.(Luke 2:25-38)
Flavius states that at that particular Passover,Archelaus sent troops to the Temple and sent all who were in attendance home and cancelled the Festival they year so that he might make haste to Rome to hear Herods will read by Augustus Caesar.3000 were killed on the Temple mount.I have often wondered if Simeon and Anna were amongst those slaughtered.
Since the required offering would not have been accepted on Passover day according to several Rabbi's I spoken to,it would have to have been the 2nd day of the feast that the offering was made.Afterwhich Mary & Joseph and the Lord returned to Nazareth of Galilee. (Luke 2:39) (Matt. 2:22-23)
I assume Luke, being a Greek Physician was literate enough to comprehend the meaning of the word EVERY.When he stated that..
"Now his(Jesus)parents went to Jerusalem EVERY year at the feast of Passover ( Luke 2:41)
Shepherds, watching their flocks by night were visited by a choir of angels proclaiming the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:8-20) Could it be the shepherds were taking their lambs to Jerusalem for the Passover?
Josephus states Hero killed his own son and heir,Antipater,5 days before he died.He was dying and suffering great illness, but was still determined that he would never relinquish his throne to anyone.Could it be that on the same day he killied his son,he also sent troops to murder the innocents to eliminate this prohecied son who was to be king.
From this evidence I conclude and believe,That Jesus was born 40 days prior to Passover in 4 B.C.Making his Birthday the 3rd day of the 12th month Adar. ( Feb.Or March )
Jesus was born 40 days prior to Passover
Began his ministry 0n Passover
Was tested for 40 days following Passover
Died on Passover,1 month following His 34th Bithday in 30 A.D.
~ Blessings to all ~ MARANATHA

Questions: (I was the worst student in Bible school, please forgive my stupid questions)
How did Josephus know what's the fifth day backward before he'd die?
I.e. "Hero killed his own son and heir, five days before I died."

Jesus died a single man, never was married. He planned to get married also about a month and a half after Passover passed over.
"Was tested for 40 days following Passover" His test came back positive?

"Since the required offering would not have been accepted on Passover day according to several Rabbi's I spoken to" Holy Wow, man, why did you just not aske these 2011+ years old rabbis, when Jesus was born? Some other historians would be interested in talking to them, too. I mean, their witness statement of the conduct on that passover is priceless. (Ie. I am not convinced that that portion of Jewish customs has remained so steadfast since that fateful passover. Things change, Jews too, we don't sacrifice lambs and unicorn no more on Passover, no matter which day.) So to trust those rabbis for accuracy, while knowing that customs and ceremonial procedures changed, means they told you they were eyewitnesses, then and there.

That means the star did not lie. It was above the building where Jesus was born, just like it was above every other building for thousands of miles around. And I know the meaning of EVERY, and I ain't even a Greek physician.

The scriptures don't lie.

Herod was inside a building. The light was outside. In those days windows were only used as mirror to the soul. I defy you to state which finger I am pointing upwards, above a windowless building inside which you exist for the time.

This is NOT going to be a joke. I found a serious flaw in your chronological reasoning.

Luke 2:22 talks about an offering which is according to the Law of the Lord. This law may have been 1. the passover law, or 2. the law that states that parents of babies must make an offering after a certain time passes after the birth of a child, but also before a certain longer amount of time passes.

This would mean that the meeting between Jesus and Simeon was NOT at a passover.

There is another way of looking at it.

Simeon and Anna went to the Temple more than just one Passover, likely EVERY passover like Joseph and his family.

Simeon and Anna met Jesus in ONE of those passover events.

Flavious mentions nothing about which passover the crowds have been sent home from the Temple IN RELATION when Jesus was there. Only in relation that it was in 4 BC.

Therefore even if Joseph and Mary went to make the offering, their being in a meeting with Simeon and Anna could have taken place in Year 1, year 2, Year 3, and in Year 4 only if you are lucky, and then there was Year -1, year -2, etc. All we know is that Jesus met Simenon at a Passover feast, but which one of the passover feasts around that time, is not a knowledge we have. If both Jesus parents (sans the holy spirit -- I mean Mary and Jesus' stepfather) and Simeon with Anna went to Jerusalem EVERY year, then it's not pinning down any one passover to when Jesus met Simeon.

Further proof exists in your text that it was not the passover of Flavious' mention of Anthropoulous sending everyone home from the Temple, when he needed to hurry to Rome to hear his father's will read by Caesar. This proof is that Joseph and Mary were successful in placing their offering (on the second day of Passover), which would have been impossible on the Passover that had been dismissed by Antrhopoulous!!

So there is proof it was not "that" passover during which Jesus met Simeon, and that's for sure.

From your demeanor sir and the character
you exhibit,I would venture to guess it
would be the middle finger on your right hand.
I don't need to be a Wiseman to discern that.
Unless you are left handed and wisdom then dictates it is the third finger on your left hand. laugh
Have a wonderfull day!

Sorry, I meant Archelaus, when I said Antropoulous in the one previous entry of mine.

I am really bad with names.

Ha!! I told you that Herod could not see a light from inside a windowless building.

I was holding up the thumb of my right hand!!

Which is not even a finger, but it is included in the headcount of the expression, "the five fingers of death".

I failed one, only one question in an aptitude test for computer programmers because of this anomaly in the English language. Teh test asked, "How would you write down the number of fingers you have, in base eight?" I wrote, "10". The correct answer expected was "12".

You see, they counted the thumbs in their total head count of fingers, whereas I excluded the two thumbs, reasoning they are not fingers.

That I am still angry about. They made a judgement on my smarts by their asking a stupidly ambiguous question, without their realizing that the question was ambiguous, it could have two different valid answers.

So which question do you pick in those instances?

Were they testing if I were a mind reader?

I am still boiling because of that, back, thrity-forty years ago.

Nobody truly knows because of calendar changes, so his birthday was celebrated on December 25th, a pagan day. After all, "someone" had to pick a date.

Here are some things I often wonder about and guess at:

What did Jesus call Mary?
"Mom?"

And what did he call Joseph?
"Dad?" Or was God his Dad?

What did Mary say to Jesus when he left a mess around the house?
"Jesus, will you please pick up your mess?"

What words did Jesus use as a curse word when he hit his finger with a hammer?
"Oh Constantinople?"

Was Jesus ever bullied as a child? Did he play ball? If so, what kind? Did he ever eat in a restaurant? What was his favourite food?

Just a few things I've always wondered about.
