I don't "check mate" others. If they are too much to handle, I walk away. I try and surround myself with happy, kind people. Mean people suck and I will stay as far from them as I possibly can.

Yep, when someone check mates me; it is over. I care about myself way to much to put up with anyone's crap; especially when it comes to romance. I keep my heart well protected and don't let anyone check mate me anymore.

I do it through personality.

You put thier eyes to thier feet....then they capitulate. There is no need to constantly ride someone down....usually once is enough.

To check-mate anyone is to have them with no way to withdraw,,or stand on their own defenses,,to have them CHECKMATED,,is to have them at their most dared position in life to ever be..
WHY? WOULD ANYONE WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER IN THAT POSITION?
As toeven pretend to care about someone,,,YOU would NEVER want to have them here or feel YOU have placed them here?
Life is way to short to FEEL one NEEDS to have THIS TYPE OF CONTROL over someone else....LEAVE it,,,or DON'T look this deep,,,but someones heart and feelings MUST HAVE A WITHDRAW,,,or a STANDING,,,NEVER just a HELPLESS DEFEAT OF THEIR ALL..

Sometimes it may be required to prove yourself and you can't avoid the matter by simply leaving.
The basic weapons to counter attack are honesty,logical argument and strong morality.(In my view;at least it works for me.)

Generally a good tactics but doesn't work all the time.
As it is said 'Offence is the best defence'.
When someone tries to check mate you without any proper reason, I think it is better to counter attack. Simply running away won't solve the problem always.

Hmmm...I have no idea what the hell you are on about...but if someone is so full of their own sh *te and I can't stand it anymore, usually I call them on it, then leave them to it.

I have no time for drama, and gossip and bullsh *te...it is so ridiculous and mundane.

I was taught confidence is good but not over confidence.

If it is someone I don't really care about, I employ a dead malice attack and make the person look like a fool to others around us.

If it is someone I really care for, I apply the "a dose of your own meds" approach... partly to give them a lesson and help them change their ways or to get the pain out of my system... then that's it, game over!
