You know sometimes no matter how hard we try to hang on to something
that's not right for us we know in the back of our mind that the world would turn just a little smoother if we had the courage to let go. This is a song I wrote during one of those times. It's called "goodbye old life".

It brings back a ton of memories for me and the emotion that came with them.

There's something about crawling inside of yourself when your writing a song but for me even more as you are putting it down. I can remember having to stop many times as my voice would crack while singing this song. I'd have to leave the room even though it was just me and the piano player and sit for a few minutes till I could get a clear place in my mind again.

As a kid I would sit in the corner of the studio and just watch, quiet as a mouse, as the artist would throw themselves at the song. It was like they were living through the pain (or whatever emotion) all over again. I think, oh what a world we live in that has this deepness to life.
