Class of 99?

Anyway, speaking of "perception," the other day I was sitting on my couch, and came to an epiphany of sorts. Yeah, after all these years I finally realized that my favorite color is: Clear.

Well, 1899... I'm pretending to be Oscar Wilde...
I thought you looked familiar !

Oh, not so fast... a lady the creates her own Karma. A wonderful concept.

So what is it...? Are flip=flops are fair tool in self-defense or are ceramic chickens of-limits for recepticles of hidden messages?
Thanks for noticing. The name was a bit of a lark, Karma can neither be created nor destroyed...or is that energy? Some kind of Einstenian Buddhist concept I think

Sorry, I was being silly... but Einstien as a Buddhist!? Now that's something worth serious consideration, haha.

OMG ! You've posted over 10,000 times....It IS like deja vu all over again ! But seriously, good luck with your quest.

the quest is over, jason can have the golden fleece, frodo can keep the ring, juan ponce de león can have the fountain of youth, indiana jones can deal with the arc, sir galahad can have the holy grail, in the mean time i will post patiently for my lady to find me

Hi Ted. I'm here to practice as well. I,m new to the forums & suspect I may be considered obnoxious --just a suspicion based on some of the responses or lack thereof I get to my posts and profile. If you have any tips for how I might come across as more socially acceptable, I will attempt to implement them.

Now that's just funny... you've come to a dry-well, in that regard.
I'm a social-leper... I only roam at night. Well, sorta'.
But the folks here are fairly liberal in choosing friends... I'm sure that you'll fit in just fine.
Speak your mind... and chat it up.
Have you tried posting a "howdy-do" in the new-peeps forum... always good for a laugh... but it get you covered too.
Go on... jump in... the water's fine.
Haha.
Double-dog dare ya.

I've always wondered... instead of this karma annuity I have, is there somewhere I can just trade in all of my karma points for one lump sum?!

haha. I think "speaking my mind" is where I usually go wrong...Oh well, up until the double dog dare, I could've avoided all that unpleasantness (or pleasantness--we shall see), but now I am off to take your good advice, sir, and post in the "New" forum....don't they have an "old and cynical" forum? That might be more appropriate, but I still gotta hafta cover the dreaded double dog dare base....so Cheers!

hmmmmm...my thoughts on that are "he who gives lumps will get lumps, sum or otherwise" (sorry, accounting not my strong suit) I can't speak to the rate of allocation, only that it will happen somewhere, somehow....been there, lived it.

You are quite the sport... you did well too.
I'm impressed by your forth-rightness and playfulness.

(and now now I'm gushing... I choose to shut-up now. haha.)

Does that mean if we communicate well, people won't be sure of what we said?

Well, I've heard first impressions make or break a person, so... be unique. Throw all the quintessential communication methods you thought you knew away.

Be original, or be boring.

Which of the above would you rather converse with?!

Teditis's photo
Mon 06/20/11 02:19 PM
Well, I've been honing "boring" for the last 50 years or so... but I entered the thread thinking that I might learn new ways of miscommunicating... now, I'm feeling kinda stuck.

Mebbe the beer &a shot is the better way to go?

Boring people don't pretend to be Oscar Wilde.

That's very imaginative. Not something I'd expect from a self-appointed bore.

And on a side note - Yes, I think a few drinks are a good way to "loosen up" so to speak. But... (there's always a butt, right?) a lot of women are jaded by men who drink, so play that card wisely.

Haha, just a little commercial here... Tribbles is a fuggin Genius here... and sees multiple aspects clearly, all at the same time...

Still, I ain't playin'... cards or anything else.
Correcting/manipulating first-impressions imply pretense... a miscommunication, eh? Intended perhaps, no?
Just not my style... but your advice makes a lot of sense just the same.
Tough call for me...

I'll drink to that ! (What you both said) (too late, jaded already) It doesn't pay to cross crabby pitbulls....or probably dead playwrights for that matter. Off topic again, what was the topic ? conversation starters--how's about----What's your sign?
