I think Fox is pretty bad, but much of the news is 'promoter' based , which means they have to support the people supporting their paychecks.

The news must actually COMPETE to get viewers, which means they almost must choose the most jaw dropping stories(Whether valid or not)

as evident in so many situations, ( I remember one year hearing about no less than one dozen child abductions in one month, even though the actual RATE of that particular crime had been on the decrease for years)

which is sad because people get their worldview oftentimes from the news they see and read, in otherwords,

if they see and read it , it must be happening,

if they dont see and read it , it probably didnt happen

and if they are seeing and hearing about it more it is happening more

and if they are seeing and hearing about it less it is happening less,,,

people have their whole world wrapped up in what media tells them, instead of using logic and remembering that its an EDITED form which is picked and chosen, not for accuracy, but for VIEWER POTENTIAL

The 32 percenters love to tell us how popular faux News[/] is, and the kind of ratings it gets.

I loved this news story.

I don't see the sense in comparing MSM to a comedy show.
Compare the MSM to each other and I'd be willing to bet that's what your "32%'s" are talking about.

If we are not broke then why do the democrats demand that we need to raise the debt ceiling?

I'll tell you the sense of it. Nobody but fools and Faux News watchers expect to get any actual news from the MSM. Young people, in particular, go to John Stewart to get their news.

I'll tell you why. America has a net national worth of around $54 trillion. (Total assets minus total liabilities). That is not a country that is broke.

Conservative in America are just plain cheap. They want all the good stuff, but they don't want to have to pay for it. They want the lower class people to have to pay for for their perks. That's why democrats demand to raise the debt ceiling.

It's a GREAT propaganda/misinformation outlet and entertainment source (like the rest of the MSM), yes.

Even the USA Today writers know better than that.

The federal government's financial condition deteriorated rapidly last year, far beyond the $1.5 trillion in new debt taken on to finance the budget deficit, a USA TODAY analysis shows.

What does that have to do with net national wealth. You are talking about the deficit, new liabilities. You have said nothing about new assets.

The deficit has to rise if Conservatives won't allow the Government to raise revenues.

America is not broke. It just won't pay its bills

This may be the dumbest argument on how national debt works I have ever heard.

Or ... the US Government (an entity separate from America) could balance it's budget and maybe (horror of horrors) start to pay down the national debt.

So, what are you doing here? Is there anything you would like to contribute to the topic, or did you just pop in because you felt that you have something you want to "teach" me.

I don't really mind being stalked. In fact I expect it, but this seems a little over the top to me. I would think that you would at least pretend to have something to contribute to the topic.

Really!! You do understand the difference between Net National Wealth and the deficit, don't you? You actually believe that the American Government is somehow a separate entity from the country? Is it some kind of independent body that exists from the outside some how and is responsible for paying the country's debts? Where does it get it's funding? If a wealthy family incurs a debt, and then refuses to pay for it, is there some outside independent governing body that is at fault?

Oh, and BTW.

You don't apparently understand the difference between the debt of the government and the debt of the people. Like most things, you just make up whatever sounds good in the the mind of a communist and put it out as fact.

It would appear you do not have much of an education.
