Everyone is always talking about loving God and that you should love God or Jesus. When I was a child I thought that was strange because i had never seen the guy.

So seeing as how most people don't see the anthropomorphic version of "God" how does one love that?

I love life. I love others. That is how I love God.

How do you love a God you have never seen?

I know absolutely God loves me and every one else, no doubt about that. Not because what he does for someone, not because of the shiny things he gets someone, not because of anything he specifically gives me or another. I know God loves me because of what he offers. I know he loves me because of what he offers with no catches to it, God love me "us" unconditionally.

And just because YOU don't see God, doesn't mean he's not there. God is everywhere and can be seen all the time. Maybe not with the naked eye, but neither can air be seen, but yet you know it's there. You see the effects it has on things, you see what it does. It boils down to giving credit where credit is due. If you see something amazing, something loving, or anything of that nature, you can see it with a "coincidence eye, a it just so happened eyed, or any way like that". You can give the credit to the person that did the action to cause this thing to happen, you can give credit to anything you wish on the matter. But it's about giving credit where credit is due, and seeing what's there not particularly what you want to see.

He can't love unconditionally Cowboy, and then say: "If you don't do this this this and this, I will let you burn".

That is nonsensical and illogical.

Yes, that would be nonsensical and illogical, good thing that's not how it is.

How can someone love you if you refuse to let them? If you refuse to acknowledge their love? How can you receive the love of one if you do not even believe they exist? How is one to love another if they do not let them love that someone?

For example:
Hypothetically say I love Janis Joplin. How is she going to know this if she doesn't let me show her my love? If she doesn't accept the love I give to her? How will this work if she doesn't believe I exist?

First of all Cowboy I did not suggest that God is "not there." I said that the anthropomorphic version of "God" cannot be seen.

The question, which you did not answer, was HOW DO YOU LOVE GOD?

The question, people, is

IF YOU LOVE GOD,

HOW DO YOU LOVE GOD?

I love God by being obedient to his wishes. Not all the time, I'm not perfect, I do stumble from time to time. But I show my love to God by obeying his wishes and desires of what he wishes for us to do or not do. The same way I would love a woman in my life or any other person in my life. How else can one show their love for another?

It's a personal question.

How do you, personally, "LOVE" God?

What does it actually feel like to you?

Obedience is not the same as love. It is more like respect.
But how do you feel when you are loving God? How do you know God feels your love?

The question was not how do you SHOW YOUR LOVE, It was how do you Love God?

Sure it is, if you did not love someone you wouldn't be obedient to the favors they ask, if you didn't love someone you wouldn't be obedient to the things the ask of you. If you love someone, you are self driven to do as they ask if it is in your ability to make them happy. Love and respect go hand in hand. Why would you have respect for someone if you didn't love them? How would you love someone if you didn't respect them? I feel untouchable, I feel like king of the world when I am loving God. I know God feels my love because of the blessings he gives to me in my life, I know God feels my love because he takes care of my every need.

It's a hard question to answer, but to me the best way to love God is to simply enjoy your life as it was given to you. Don't take it for granted, live, learn, love, experience as God created us to. That's the best way to truly love God I suppose.

Yes it is. That is what he wishes for us to do, that is being obedient to his wishes/desires. That leave no room for hatred or anything foul. If you are enjoying your life and loving others, what more could you possibly do? What more could possibly be needed? All in all this is exactly how God has instructed us to live our lives.

Oh and also give thanks for what you have, is another way. There are many blessings around us, if we pay attention to them.

Thing is, you limit what we can do by the rules. You can't truly experience when how you can experience is controlled.

The only rules/laws God has given us, is around not harming another or ourselves. What could be limited from God's laws/rules? What could you possibly miss out on when it comes to loving others and having an enjoyable life full of happiness and love?

My love for God is the joy in my heart and it is the joy of being. I feel gratitude for my life and my freedom and the power that I have been given to create my own experiences.

Problem is, it goes further than that, into defining what harms and what doesn't in a subjective manner. We don't need a book to tell us that harming each other is bad, we all know that if we listen to our conscience.

The Bible basically limits how we experience things, be them good or bad by putting them into categories. You can't exactly make your own reality, if you are told how you must do it.

If you love God and love others, you will naturally do God's will.
But this is a reality where you are free to do otherwise.

God will wait for you to come around to him, he has eternity. He gives us eternity and many lives to get it right. That is my belief.

This thread is not about the Bible.
This question is how YOU love God.

It has nothing to do with any religion. It is not for arguing dogma.
