Topic: How do you love God? | |
---|---|
It's a hard question to answer, but to me the best way to love God is to simply enjoy your life as it was given to you. Don't take it for granted, live, learn, love, experience as God created us to. That's the best way to truly love God I suppose. Yes it is. That is what he wishes for us to do, that is being obedient to his wishes/desires. That leave no room for hatred or anything foul. If you are enjoying your life and loving others, what more could you possibly do? What more could possibly be needed? All in all this is exactly how God has instructed us to live our lives. Thing is, you limit what we can do by the rules. You can't truly experience when how you can experience is controlled. The only rules/laws God has given us, is around not harming another or ourselves. What could be limited from God's laws/rules? What could you possibly miss out on when it comes to loving others and having an enjoyable life full of happiness and love? Problem is, it goes further than that, into defining what harms and what doesn't in a subjective manner. We don't need a book to tell us that harming each other is bad, we all know that if we listen to our conscience. The Bible basically limits how we experience things, be them good or bad by putting them into categories. You state it limits things, but you have yet to state what it may limit in terms of loving other people and or enjoying life when it doesn't harm another(s). |

This thread is not for arguing about religion or the Bible. It is only about your personal feelings about how you personally love what you feel is "GOD."

This thread is not about the Bible. This question is how YOU love God. It has nothing to do with any religion. It is not for arguing dogma. Agreed, this is about a personal relationship/knowledge about God. Not any doctrine. |

Because it defines what harming is, it leaves no room for our own intepretations. Hence a limit on our experiences. But I won't argue this further, out of respect for Jeannie. |

First off, who's arguing? This is why "discussions" turn into "arguments" and bickering at one another. Just because two people's beliefs don't agree with one another, doesn't mean they are arguing or anything. They just have a different belief, no one's trying to state their belief trumps yours or anything of such. Just "sharing" our different beliefs. Secondly, there is not interpretations to what harms another. It's plain and simple and same for everyone. If you're going to say the Christian belief limits something, you're going to have to get a little more in depth then that. |

I imagine her coming from a very oppressive situation maybe even life threatening, to find freedom. That's what her song feels like. |

My love for God is the joy in my heart and it is the joy of being. I feel gratitude for my life and my freedom and the power that I have been given to create my own experiences. ^^I feel the same way jeanniebean. I love him by loving and helping others, by listening to my heart/instincts, believing he hasn't put on a path I can not follow, knowing he places people in my life for reasons and I try to cherish the time/energy I share with them! I trust when I ask for something I truly need it will be placed in my path, but also feel that I must be grateful for whatever it is as sometimes these gifts are not exactly what we expected, yet usually what we really needed rather than what we think we do! |

God is definitely funny like that, the biggest blessings at times tend to be in ways and places you wouldn't have expected. We just have to be paying attention to receive them. |

It's a personal question. How do you, personally, "LOVE" God? What does it actually feel like to you? look at the beauty of the universe. this is a reflection of God. human emotion and love is also a reflection of God. feel the beauty of it and you are loving God with your appreciation of all that is good, true and just in this world. |

Everyone is always talking about loving God and that you should love God or Jesus. When I was a child I thought that was strange because i had never seen the guy. So seeing as how most people don't see the anthropomorphic version of "God" how does one love that? I love life. I love others. That is how I love God. How do you love a God you have never seen? I love God with a bit of ketchup and Soy Bean Sauce, or doing it in the missionary position. I think loving god "doggy style" would be blasphemous. Except for dyslexics. |

TO EMULATE GOD’S LOVE IS TO LOVE GOD
......"Do It Anyway"........ - Mother Teresa wrote this poem – People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway. "We Love God Because He First Loved Us." |
