in the information age, is there ANY information that the government could truly just let 'us' know about

in letting 'us' know about it, it generally means letting the WHOLE World(including combatants) know,, and they certainly dont need to know everything we WANT to know

But we do have a right to know do we not?

a 'right',, sure if we can find it in the constitution,,otherwise, know,,,we dont have a right to ALL security information,,

,thats why its called SECURITY,, because its supposed to be'secure' and not available to EVERYONE...

The whole problem though is, it can be so very subjective in how it used. They can find and really do in fact find all sorts of reasons to play the security card. It's a way for them to be able to easily cover their ***** IMO.

Let me put it this way. I really hope the security of our nation is never placed in your hands.

And let me just reply, by saying I think you are a fool.

Think what you want.

I would rather be called a fool than have thousands of soldiers killed over stupidly leaking information.

Just as I'd rather be a fool then allow thousands of soldiers to die for a war that was and is based on lies.

Oh give it a rest.

Congress voted to go to war. They had the same information available as George Bush did. Yes Bush was pushing for the war. But he could not do anything. Congress had to vote and they DID have the same info.

You want to blame someone for going to war, blame the liberal congress in charge of the decision. They cried foul later.

"We were lied to. We didn't know any better."

So, either they are foolish and gullible or they lied to us later. Take your pick.

If you ask me, many of us are foolish and gullible, especially those who seem to think our government is incapable of lying and deceit.

its not that they arent capable of lies or deception, its the scale and complexity and longevity of the lies and eceit that cause them to loose their probability

watergate was busted open fairly quickly,,,something this big,, wouldnt last a decade in this information/ snitch age,,,

You'd be surprised, especially when you have people out to discredit anyone who tries to speak out.

Just so you know, I am not out to discredit you because you are "speaking out."

First of all, I agreed with you that the government isn't telling us everything but disagreed saying that we don't have a right to know everything.

I am just trying to say my piece as you are yours.

But when I heard absolutely absurd ideas being passed off as truth, I gotta say something.

You started off saying the Gulf of Tonkin was a lie and part of a conspiracy. When I showed you that it was just erroneous information passed up the chain, you acknowledged it probably wasn't a conspiracy then.

Do you think everyone is error free? Therefore any mistake anyone makes is a conspiracy or coverup?
