I don't know why. When I have several IE windows open, and I want to close one of them. It automatically shots down all the other IE7 windows.
Any help please.

Does it happen when you close a window from any site or just one or two of them? Maybe its the site closing them.

Try raising the security level of your browser.

it's not any site in specific
the IE windows can be open in any site, and it still will shot down all the other IE windoes open at the moment. Regardless in which site they are.

Sounds like your using tabbed browsing, it will close all the tabs when you X to close the 1 window you want, to solve the issue, open a new window that you want kept open

it closes all the windows, or all the tabs?

Whatever ONE window you have open, no matter how many tabs are in that ONE window, will close them all, If it's closing ALL the windows too, i would maybe try a repair or a reinstal of IE 7 or firefox if you'd like to try itout, may be a corrupt file , a simple reintsal or repair may do it....

Closing all associated windows is something which can happen when a process serving all those windows crashes. I don't know whether IE7 launches a separate process for each window. It would not hurt to try Davy's advice - uninstall & reinstall.

Check your IE settings. Are you set up to "open in the same window"? If so, using tabbed browsing might be affected. ??

Have you checked here?
Internet Options
General Tab
Tabs - settings

...see what your settings are and change them if necessary.
