We have a wildlife sanctuary for birds at the local college, there was hawks and owls, there was one owl, just a plain barn owl, named Otis, he was such a cutie, we were able to pet the owl, the sanctuary isn't there anymore, I think it moved to another area, but there still is the usual ducks, geese, the occasional Nutrias, and tiny turtles, its awesome.

I belong to the Rockey Mountain Raptor Program. They bring birds back to health if they can so they can be returned to the mountains. So I get to hold and work with the birds when I have time or they need some help. Also a license falconer for 30 years. |

The birds are indeed something to behold they kind of get to know who you are. They seem to wait to greet you when you come in. Really a wonderful feeling.

I miss my friend - she's having a tough time and needs a shoulder right now.

How things don't turn out the way you think they will... the people you think will remain in your life sometimes don't... the people you think won't do... etc...

Thinking about 2 friends and former co-workers who had been in a relationship for the past year. Both were straightening out their lives, building a future together. Lately things had been rough, and apparently got the best of them. Now one is in jail for 2nd degree assault, and the other was taken to the hospital with a head injury. I had been proud of the progress both had made. Now it's just so sad that it was all thrown away like this.
Now I have to lose a friend of 15 years because he did something I have for which I have zero tolerance. And he did it to another friend of 4 years. I'm stunned and disappointed.

 Wow! That's rough.  Sympathies to you and hope your friend is ok and the other friend ends up being ok in the end and not doing that again.
