LOLLOL! I'll agree with that, though these guys are pets and won't get eaten. But they're a lot of fun just to have, if one isn't worried about the cost.
Angus burgers are just the best. |

Used to have ponies as a kid....I hated those things.
Had a cow...Agnes.....it's a cow....they ain't that bright. Had a pet raccoon...Oscar....very cool in theory....the reality is that a coon can and will get into EVERYTHING! Had a Chinese Emporer scorpion ...Fluffy.....when I lived in Denver. 8" long 3" wide of BADASS!!!! I super glued an eyelet to it's back and would loop fishing line though it for a leash and take him to the park. Dogs would freak on it. I like critters. |

Looks like a Pitt mixed with German Shorthair :o) Sweet! Yeah, I'd love to get a DNA test on him. He looked more like a pointer early on, but not he is squaring off. He's just not overly muscled, more like a soft hound type. |

That's a beautiful little menagerie. As soon as I get my monthly GBs renewed next month, Ill send some pix of mine Are those actual Paints? They're very handsome! Gentry is an unregistered Spotted Saddle Horse. He was a neglect case that I took in. He'll be 3 in June, but I don't think he'll put much more height on, unfortunately, due to the neglect, but as least he's rounded out nicely and he's totally full of himself and thinks he's hot stuff. Chance is a registered Tennessee Walker, and he turned 20 this year. I've had him since he was 3. Krupa - Ponies generally are more grouchy. Kids tend to respect them less due to size, so they have to be able to handle themselves. I never had ponies. My first horse was 17HH or about 68 inches tall, with hooves the size of a dinner plate. He was a sweetheart and would let me do anything on his, but one was always aware of his size. And we'll have to disagree on the stupid cows thing. Most animals, IMO, are tons smarter, if they're allowed to be. These guys may frustrate me no end with their antics, but I watch them figure things out. Deaths - There's 7 dogs all total, but the one serious troublemaking little Chin is hiding out of the picture, and Shadow is to old to be a troublemaker. Or at least that's what she thinks. LOLLOL! |

I've heard that TWs are the golden retrievers of the horse family. Mine certainly is! 17HH! Jeez. That's huge. almost a draft horse? Mine is less than 16HH, but he has almost no withers, to speak of. Very hard to get up on without having the saddle slip on me. He gets better later in the summer when he's lost all his winter fat.

Well, knowing how many Golden's are rather idiotic and or psychotic anymore, I don't know about that. But yes, generally, the breed as a whole is fairly stable and easygoing. They're very people oriented, and willing. I'd compare them more to mules in brains and common sense, to be honest. Yeah, we always called Abe our draft-Walker. He was 17 when I got him, had been used by an old gentleman farmer for hunting. He was great for learning to ride on, because if you did basic stuff wrong, he'd just stop till you figured it out. Once I got comfortable riding, we could do all sorts of things and he was willing but smart about it. Mom preferred him as the babysitter. |
