If I were a Republican, I wouldn't like the blame game either.
That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about . . . the democratic politicians are JUST AS CROOKED as the republicans! Why are you so blinded about being correct? It's everyone that is in trouble here. You're not going to get a free pass just because you identify yourself as a democrat or republican!

Just for the record, I am neither Dem or Rep, I hate mindless spending; therefore, I hate both sides equally.

he's just baiting you, pec... he is really not that dumb...

Nobody likes mindless spending on either side, But almost all Government spending supports jobs. That's what the country needs now, more than anything else.

We have a really interesting government at the moment...

Allegedly a labour government, however the only way they won the election was with preference votes...

...so there are Independents, and Greens that have the swing vote on almost every party policy...

I've found it fascinating the various policies rolled out over the past year...and the extraordinary ones post summer...(remembering we had a huge crisis with weather extremes over all of Australia).

I like this minority Government...there are firm agendas for each ot the governing parties, and a lot of concessions being made to get any policy through parliament.

We don't pay much attention to the Aussies here. After all, America is the center of the universe. I think I may read up a little.

to expand upon what I mean, including the president, there are 536 ELECTED officials in government who have to keep things running smoothly

none of them do it BY THEMSELF and none of them can make a promise that the other 535 will do it

I can promise to go to church every sunday, because it only requires that I control MY activity and movement

I cant make a promise that my whole HOUSEHOLD will go, (although I can propose a plan to try to SWAY the whole household to agree to go) and a government is a HOUSEHOLD, not any one individual person

i guess we have a different understanding of what smoothly is... what about obama's promise of a more transparent government? his minimum wage promise, his promise to close gauntanamo, ... i could go on, but you know what i mean... so because the others in the white house, it is not his fault? your talking in terms of households and whatever, they are outright lying to get votes...

more transparent is not the same as COMPLETELY transparent,, there are new measures in place SINCE his inauguration which open up presidential records more easily and which POST the presidential schedules and other information on the web which wasnt posted before

I dont recall him PROMISING anything about minimum wage as he is not in charge of setting it,,,

one of the first papers he SIGNED coming in office was the shutdown of guantanamo,, so he held up his deal but he wasnt able To GUARANTEE it or force it and it didnt happen

please, do go on, so I can make it clear the difference between a PROMISE(guarantee of something to be done) and campaign proposals(statement of GOALS being reached for)

Because the government is 536 people, it is the responsibility of 536 people what happens, not any ONE by themself

Again, I dont remember OBama lying about anything when he was running

wake up folks, think outside the box, STEP AWAY FROM THE DIVISIVE TACTICS!!!...lol

this thread is something like this

'white people are more <insert complaint here>'

'no they arent, ur blind, its black people who are <insert complaint here>'

we see it so clearly when it comes to race or gender, but somehow we still allow ourselves to be duped when it comes to political labels

HUMANS can make errors, and lie, and be greedy, those humans often run for office and get ELECTED,,,regardless of their political label

but all those humans we elect are supposed to be operating together for AMERICANS , and it becomes hard to do when they individually get stuck in operating strictly for their own constituents,,,,,but thats the dilemma we have DEMANDED they undertake ,,,,,,

Both major sides of the political coin have driven the government into shut down. Think about it and ask yourself, "Why did this REALLY happen?"

As I see it, the two opposing sides aren't getting what they want. This "I'm taking my ball and going home!" attitude simply must stop.

All I'm saying is the blame game is an old tired one. "It's the Republicans..." "It's the Democrats..." I wish politicians on both sides would just man up and try to do what is right for the general populace for once, instead of doing it for themselves.

Okay. I wish they would all take their respective balls and go home and stop meddling in everyone's business. Thank goodness for gov'ment shut downs!

The problem is neither side will admit defeat ever. the ego is to big. Many only care about wining and looking good for the people of the nation not helping the people of this great nation. It been going on for 100 of years before us and will still go on 100 yrs after

They should just do their damn jobs. If they shut down the government, fire them. Shutting down the government is so stupid.

Okay what if they just shut it down completely forever. They would all be out of jobs. They better not try to collect any taxes from the people either. Then they can't enforce their laws and total chaos will reign.

Each state can become a sovereign entity. Screw the Feds.

All that was is a "what If article" Someone did do some good research but at the end of the day all he proved is that Presidents make big promises and do not always come through completely. The same thing happen with Bush to Clinton, Regan, Roosevelt, as far back as even Lincoln. That's just politics man should be expected by now.

Also people respected in the political field do not resort to play ground name calling like (Libs) or (Obama care). That is text book slander logic that's why people stop taking Republican radio personalities seriously.

P.S. Im not a liberal and just because I dont think Obama is an evil African immigrant sent here to destroy the U.S. economy by raising taxes and giving out cash for clunkers. Does not make me a liberal.

I am an independent like most of the sane nation.
