Not only will republicans eliminate 700,000 jobs but they will make our drinking water less safe, our roads and bridges less safe. Less of everything that protects you and me. The for profit free market will not regulate itself.

They actualy want things to get worse so they can have political gain next election cycle. They would rather our old and young suffer rather than have Obama sucseed. Traitors everyone of them and shame on those who support them.

Actually, the free market does and always has regulated itself. A basic reading of economic history will tell you that. The problems arise with crony capitalists like Obama and Bush. I would suggest you actually read something about the system you are criticizing before coming on here and making a clear dunce of yourself. drinker

yes BOTH dipchit parties are to blame...drinker

I'll second that! drinker

I will third it and take it a bit further to agree with one of Redys earlier posts,,, EGO is to blame

the ego of the parties, both needing to be 'right' and prove the other 'wrong' as opposed to working together

the ego of the citizens, all needing to point the finger of blame at each other while doing little to nothing to look out for each other,,,
I will fourth it because we realy only have two branches of the capitalst party in umerika. My opinion is the dems are the better choice being they support more issues that improve our quality of life. to make it simple, they would rather reform a criminal and make him a contributor to society rather than lock him up in a for profit prison.

there are certainly merits and flaws in both platforms, and one or the other may be a better personal choice for us based upon our personal priorities, ,,I choose democratic for the same reason(it is CLOSER to my own personal values and priorities politically speaking),

but I dont REJECT republican because of it and I hate to see politics coming down to the two parties FIGHTING each other instead of WORKING with each other

the only thing that bothers me about either party is when the one party starts blaming the other for everything... no matter what, both parties control the government, not just one or the other... so how can any of this be one parties fault?

Seriously? maybe we are not on the same page. My point being the free market will not regulate itself in terms of saftey if it will effects the bottem line. It has allways been the government that has stepped in and said you cant add sawdust to ground beef.

The republican job cuts will have a huge effect on health and safty. From the FAA to the Nucelear Regulatroy Commision to vetreans services and PBS all will suffer because the republicans would rather preserve tax breaks to the wealthy than make our society a descent one.

oh cry me a river... libs just want to throw money at them, and repubs want to cut back spending...right now, being that we how many trillions in debt, which one sounds like a better deal?
The better deal would be to tax the rich at a rate they can afford, end some wars that are a parasitic drain on our economy and improve our standerd of liveing.

This country is well on it way to third world status. Cutting 700,000 middle class jobs will create far more missery than the small saveings involved.

Think about it, needed services will be cut for one.

700,000 more people on unemployment with families and children involved. Many public sector employees are vetreans by the way.

People fail to grasp for the most part government is there to keep drinking water safe the roads paved the libraries open and the food safe to eat. Why would anyone wish to cut these types of things. I for one think the last person to be in charge of food safty is a for profit agra business.

Charades politicians play are for the benefit of the public.

Behind the transparent walls they make the deals that screw Taxpayers and destroy the US.

be honest with ya, i think if the government cut their unnecessary spending, they wouldn't have to raise anyone's taxes... 20 years ago things were very good, and all they have been doing since is raising taxes...
the government is way out of control on their spending, it is real simple..

not trying to be a smartazz, it is just that 70% of inmates that are released commit more crimes and get back in... prisons are a breeding ground for career criminals. they actually learn how to commit better crimes while in prison. not to mention the gang parts of it...why waste the money on life long losers?

Dont be so simplistic it would of course depend on the crime. that is like saying its the republicans fault daddy killed himself when his postworker job was cut.

Some facts come to mind on this, many people in prison suffer some type of mental illness and were born into poverty. It makes sence to me to try to eliminate the climate that breeds criminals. That is one reasone I am a democrat. I am for parental planning and think the key to americas success is a strong middle class. I think the republicans would rather have two classes the rich and desperate poor.

i agree with you, but i think it is big business that is doing it, not the government... the fools in charge are blindly doing what the lobbyists want, and big business have more to gain from everyone being poor more than the government... or at least a mutual benefit

The better deal would be to tax the rich at a rate they can afford

And who is to DECIDE what rate the rich can afford?

And who is to DECIDE what rate the rich can afford?
If you understand how marginal tax rates work, then you can see that the 90% tax rates of the 1950s were easily affordable by the rich. You could have a 100% tax rate and the rich would still be rich. They would still be richer than anybody else. High marginal tax rates have no effect on the rich.
