"Real" is a loose term especially when it comes to being "online".

I am real...sometimes to a fault. You look pretty young. I am 38 (a young 38). I am looking for some friends to hang out with and do active things like play volley ball, I'd like to try kayaking, want to ride a tube down the Stix river, fish, play softball, love to watch baseball especially if I can sit behind home plate (makes me feel like the batter). I'd like to try para-sailing and enjoy taking photographs.

I am married but my husband doesn't want to do any of these things and seems as though he never will. I am tired of doing a bunch of nothing while I see my life pass me by.

Welcome to you too, Lady In Red. I used to know a wife who used to completely ignore what her husband did and where he went, and she did her own thing. This was in a metropolis, though, so it was easier to get away for her with that than maybe for you in a small town in Alabama.

If life gives you lemons... don't give up. You could do photography. You can buy a really good digital camera brand new now for under fifty bucks. Take photos of your house, of your garden, of your husband, as he does nothing. You can vary the angle, the lighting, or his age. You can photoshop it, and you could put the two of you on pics of Mitchy Pichu in Peru, or in the bottom of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific ocean, and include these in your Christmas letters to your friends.

There used to be a guy in jail, for forty-seven years non-stop, who was never let out even to empty his bowels. He watched the birds that flew around his cell in the tower of the Citadel where he was staying, and he became a huge bird expert by the time he got out.

You could do the same. Okay, birds have been done, you could do termites or cardiovascular vasodilators.
