Eccentric is acceptable for sure. I mean those guys are crazy. Crazy like two cats with their tails tied together. :)

I've been seeing this thread for quite some time, but I've never bothered to look before because usually, based solely from experience, when people ask me to listen to their band play or them sing, it turns out to be an auditory catastrophe. But this was actually a pleasant surprise. It's not the type of music I indulge in, but when I listened to it, I thought it was quite...cool. :)

I have to agree with Bastet. This is quite Bowie-ish, and I like David Bowie.
At first, I wasn't sure of the song, but it grew on me the more I listened to it. By the end, I was envisioning using the song in a movie soundtrack. (I am a cinematic thinker.) I have one story idea that I thought would make a good movie, and Time Bomb would fit very well with the idea - the message, the sound, the mood. It all fits. And that Goth element that Bastet referred to? Yeah, that fits too since my story concept is punk gothic. I'm glad I took the time to listen. |

We have a website now. It's still a work in progress, but if anyone wants to check it out. mrgotfu.com. We have a demo copy of a cover of Super tramps "breakfast in America on our myspace page if anyone wants to check it out it's there. Pretty experimental.

I didn't notice the new plug until now. I somehow ended up at the wrong site, but gave a listen to a few songs.
Walkin' and Y.D.K. both have a heavy Alice In Chains sound. Neither of them did I find as impressive as Time Bomb though. Fairytale Holiday actually grew on me, though its not the type of sound I normally listen to. It has a blend of sounds that remind me of multiple artists. There is a touch of Bowie sound, maybe a slight touch of Marilyn Manson, but it is the third band that is driving me nuts. I can't remember the name, but it was an Indie band I used to listen to. I wish I could put my finger on it, but it's been at least ten years since I heard them. I finally found Breakfast In America - gave a watch and a listen. The song is fairly experimental in sound, but it does conjure an image in the mind's eye, lending a whole new meaning to the original song. Like Time Bomb, I could see using this in a soundtrack for one of my story ideas....the same one in fact. Breakfast In America would set up a key scene for one of the antagonists while Time Bomb would be an overriding theme for most all of the scenes, fitting both the antagonist and the protagonist, and the situations both are dealing with. |
