WICHITA, Kan. – In the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Koch Industries, Inc. has announced it will donate $1 million for disaster relief efforts, giving $500,000 each to the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army.
In addition to the $1 million donation, Koch Industries subsidiary Georgia-Pacific is contributing its bath tissue and paper towels, and Dixie® brand plates, cups and tableware, to the ongoing relief effort through organizations like Convoy of Hope and Feed The Children. --------------------------------------------------- In light of recent posts & biased news, I thought some good news was fair to share. Koch Industries is very much in need of some good will. $1 million is pocket change fpr Koch Industries. $1 million is .03571% ofKoch Industries" net operating earnings in 1993. $1 million is less than 1 second's of profit earned by Koch Industries in 1993.

Until it is tax dollars from the half of the country that doesn't pay income tax and some of the other few who do and then there is no charity or caring. Sandra Bullock gave a million all by herself. Who really cares if it's a millisecond or 30 seconds of their profits? The point is they're contributing to a worthy cause. Who are you to judge what is done with the million or how it was gained?
Is it a good PR move? Yes. But donating 1 million dollars anywhere would have been a good PR move. Some of you people are never happy with anything that's going on in the world! |
