Many humans are (or feeling) alone on this planet (even with 6 billion inhabitants) , let alone to deal with the solar system or the galaxy or the entire universe to look for friends.. Let's deal with the former problem first.

The size of our solar system is like a grain of sand in comparison to our universe and our technology is not so developed to cover the whole universe. There is very possibility of existance of life and some of them may be more intelligent than us.(only belief)

Basically we are all alone. We have come alone and when we die we will go alone. However searching of life in outer world is important: 1)For the sake of knowledge 2)In near future we need some other shelter due to increase of population, shortage of resource etc.
