"The reason we are in Iraq is to plant the seeds of democracy so they flourish there and spread to the entire region of authoritarianism." - George W. Bush 2003

Obama's leadership is at an all time low.
Nato, on PBS today, said it didn't really have an alternative to American leadership. Now that the planes have been cleared, the NATO officials don't know what to do to get Qaddafi's troops away from the rebels since their mission is only to "Protect life". The US marines are there with ground support, but no US troops to support. Obama said publicly that the goal was not to "get Qaddafi" while the missiles methodically hit the places where he would most likely be located. Qaddafi's troops are mixing with the population for use as human shields. Several other nations in the middle east seeking democracy are having identical revolts with no action or comment by the US. This could go on forever. |

God thats beautiful! Reckon GOD does not think so. and neither does the person on the ground end of that chain of steel. Well the person on the ground at the other end of the steel is a terrorist, so who cares. Except when the person is a woman or child or any civilian, which is statistically more likely the case than hitting a terrorist. But, what's a few hundred dead civilians when military contractors and warmongering politicians can cash in, eh? |

If The president does not whole true to his promise of no ground troops it will be hard to trust him. At the same time republicans cant jump on Obama's back calling him a war hawk. When this idea of spreading democracy across the Arab world was praised by them very highly in the not to distant past.

I can't wait until I read a headline where a bomb finally took out Quaddafi............

More likely his sons will...
and then fight over who will take 'control'. Might even be some of his sons that are 'commanding' the rebels. |
