His name was Layne Staley. He died about 8 years ago. Chris Cornell is the singer for Soundgarden & Audioslave. He is still very much alive and well.....

Well....he's done solo work. Started with a track he cut for the movie Singles. I'm sure he's done other stuff too.....BUT....If ya' wanna' really hear something cool.....check out Mad Seasons first album. That band was basically members of Green River, Pearl Jam.....and Layne singing. That is a great album........


OH CRAP, You are SO Correct! Thanks for straightening me out! Both Soundgarden and Audioslave were bad azzed bands! Layne Staley was the person I was thinking of! Man how I got him mixed up with Alice in Chains, ARRRGH.

Now again correct me if I am wrong but does Chris Cornel actually perform or had performed in another project band as well as Alice in Chains and sort of at the same time too?
