Do people actually join this site with the intention of having a relationship with someone in another state or wouldn't you just wanna meet someone right up the road from you?

I joined to make friends. If anything more happens then I would count myself lucky.

good question matt, i was hoping to find someone closer, but the majority live out of state, so i either will have to try the long distance relationship thing, or just make lots of friends.

I guess i had hopes of meeting someone close, but in the end, if i meet someone that i really enjoy talking to, and it gets to a point, that i really like that person and want to be with them, then i wouldn't mind the long distance thing.

I think everyone is different...Some are open to long distance relationships and others are not for their own reasons...They may be settled and unable to relocate for personal reasons!!!!!!

I prefer meeting people from different places. I don't care for the culture in my home state. Then again my goal is for friends.

I joined just to meet interesting people. This is the first dating board I have ever joined, I am not expecting much. If I meet someone in another state that I really like:
I'll talk to them for a while. Visit them a few times. Then it will be a mutual decision as to what happens after that. Right now, I have no career, yet. So there is nothing that is keeping me here other than family and friends. |

I would relocate in a heartbeat..I hate living in alabama any ways so me finding a guy out of state that I fell for would just be a bonus..lol

I'm not sure I could handle a long distance relationship. I don't think I could. I would probably miss the person too much when not together. I like spontaneity in a relationship and with long distance...it all has to be planned.

I joined finding someone in my area; however, in the next two weeks I am going 12 hours away to meet someone!!! (I've talked to him for the last six months)... Pretty much I am openminded - if all goes well :-) I don't have to stay in KY forever!

yeah I agree with you ther tool but still I'd imagine the long distance relationship would be difficult to keep and it also depends on how far they live I think

I just recently met someone on one of these sites and she told me that she liked me a lot and all that and that she loved me and anyway we had made plans on her coming up to see me and at the last minute she dropped out so you know never know with ppl

Well for me I came here to meet friends...BUT I did end up meeting someone that is far away and things have been great...The more committed each person is...The better the long-distance relationship...We talk everyday and YES he will be coming to visit in a couple months and I am really excited about meeting him!!!!!!!!!

MY problem is actually getting TO the person..I've never traveled(alone) and not sure that I can so the guy would actually have to come to me.*watches all the guys run away*..lol
