I have walked through the valley of darkness
Fighting my way through
A long journey it has been
I now walk in the valley of light
My journey has just begun
It seems as if I dance in the sun
A gentle meadow lay at my feet
Wildflowers blooming
Smelling so sweetly
Bees buzzing about on their way
Deer even coming out to play
But it all seems so empty
So gray and unreal
I should be feeling the happiness
I should be reveling in the wonder of it all
Yet all I feel is sadness
Tears slip from my eyes
Nothing makes sense
Not even the clear blue skies
This beautiful valley is empty of you
I look to my side and you are not there
