Topic: Russia burning mad over hotsauce punishment | |

Everybody has an opinion on how somebody should discipline their kid and have differing views on what is abuse, neglectful, borderline, and acceptable. This woman is not a smart woman, for all she knows this kid could have a severe allergic reaction to the oils in the peppers used to make this hot sauce. The first time she did this he could have broken out into hives, his throat close up and suffocate to death. She would then be facing child abuse, child endangerment, neglect among other charges. I don't think she thought this out very well.
Russian officials are closely watching a case involving an Anchorage mother of six who was charged with child abuse after a video that aired on "Dr. Phil" showed her punishing her adopted Russian son by squirting hot sauce into his mouth and forcing him into a cold shower. The case has sparked a public uproar in Russia at a time that nation is nearing completion of a bilateral treaty with the U.S. on adoptions. Russia called for the agreement following the deaths of Russian children who were abused or neglected by their adoptive American parents in recent years. Russian officials say they have not ruled out pushing for the return of the 7-year-old boy to his native country should his adoptive mother, Jessica Beagley, be found guilty. There are other ways to get a kid's attention when they refuse to behave. On top of that why the hell did she have seven kids? That is at least three too many! I suppose she tried to handle all of this herself until the snow ball was too big for her to move herself?

I suppose she tried to handle all of this herself until the snow ball was too big for her to move herself? Those were other ways. Conventional 'time outs' didnt work for this child. There is no one size fits all discipline for every child, contrary to popular belief. They ADOPTED seven kids...because they could and they love children, I suppose. Id say that she handled SIX without this problem says alot. |

And to think people don't take cultural differences in mind adopting from other countries!
And as for loving something too much, well, frankly a lot of what I deal with in my work is people who love their pets way too much and kill them with caring! Overfeeding is the #1 problem I deal with. Frankly I have seen kids who only respond when you spank their azzes cherry red! Others just need to be told to behave. It sounds liker they tried the kind approach and really needed to beat the kid into place. People think they can save those with no wish to be saved. On top of that what makes anyone think they can fix "damaged goods?" Who knows how badly polluted that kids head really is inside! Frankly they bit off more than they could chew! |

I believe in spanking. I don't believe in punishments like this.

I believe in spanking. I don't believe in punishments like this. I believe in whatever punishment works to correct the behavior as long as it doesnt physically bruise the child and as long as there is a balance of support and love in the home. |
