Are you active in your community? What projects do you participate in?

Right now I've been active in community theater, and will be preforming in March! (Its a super funny play).

Plus I teach painting & drawing classes for youth & adults through community education.

I'm not really active in my community unless they have sports events (triathlons) I can compete in.

Plus, honestly, I don't think we have that much going on in our community. If we do, it's really geared around families, and with me being single, I don't really fit in.

I have a history of being very active in my community, and I think it was mostly appreciated at the time. Perhaps circumstances will allow me to resume at some point in the future to make a contribution of some sort to my community. But mostly I feel I paid my dues there...and I have more pressing priorities right now, but we'll see...

In the past I did Girl Scouts, Youth Sports, PTO, conservation

I haven't been active for a while, but I had a blast working with my campus's chapter of Habitat for Humanity in college. It's an awe inspiring thing to walk away from a completed house, look back, and remember that it used to be just a hole in the ground. You've seen it's skeleton, you saw it naked, unpainted, with no doors or windows....and then you see a deserving family (who you have been working alongside) getting ready to move into it.

I'd like to get back into Habitat eventually. I have to find my local chapter, and I have to find time to myself for once (work and classes together eat up just about all the daylight I get)

I am part of the Jaycees, which gets me pretty involved in the community. Our next big event is the Special Olympics!

In my old community before mine & my ex husbands split I volunteered at my sons middle school in the front office for 2 years & about 21 years in the volunteer fire dept. I didn't actually do any firefighting as that just wasn't my thing. I dispatched, kept the fire dept clean, & transported extra supplies to the firemen while on calls. We also had an auxilliary where we had dinners, flea markets, etc to raise extra money to keep the fire dept doors open. I did all graphics for flyers advertising events for the fire dept. After our split I moved to a new area & haven't did any volunteer work for over 3 years.
