Inspiring!

How could anyone watch this speech and not be proud to be an America and confidant in our future.
I hope I'm wrong but when the cameras scanned the audience I saw looks on Republicans faces that seemed to say, "we have already made up our minds to continue to defy this President and deny cooperation at all costs.

I hope I'm wrong because President Obama set forth a plan which could lead this country back on the path of our true greatness. How could any America not support such an effort 100%.
Put aside your partisanship Congress and Americans and follow a great leader into a bright future for us, our children, and our grandchildren.

Make an oath with me.
I will not support anyone who will not give this Presidents plan full cooperation. Dem, Tea Party, or Republican. Citizen or government official.

This speach was a good reminder. He was having problems with the words the teleprompter was feeding him. Sure he is good at reading the darn things with proper inflection and emotion at the right points... But he sure did not seem to believe what he was reading.

I am inclined to place this in the catagory of 'pep rally'...

As far as a STATE of the UNION speach... Where was the truth in it? where was the statement of how outrageous the budget situation is? (Even an average 7th grade math student can see the truth of that budget).

This was a whole bunch of 'buzz' phrases with what the authors though were good 'emotional' index words... interspersed with more of the inane individual tear jerk stories of some persons 'hard' times that will be 'prevented' by the great accomplishments of his administration... OF WHICH THERE ARE AS YET NONE.

I am disapointed. He did not look like a president... He looked like a puppet attached to a pair of teleprompters.

whats the deal about teleprompters? anyone here ever spoke for an hour under that type of criticism? Actors memorize speeches that long, others sometimes need a resource which they can refer to occasionally.

Aye... Nothing wrong with teleprompters... But he was having PROBLEMS reading them... He had several times when what was on the prompter BOTHERED HIM...

ergo... He did not believe what he was saying... Nor was he ready to say it...

but he HAD to...

Puppet attached to a couple of teleprompters.

THIS SPEACH BOTHERED THE HECK OUT OF ME.

If you will look a little farther down the page, the correct speech is posted also. As I noted, I didn't compare the speech, I just took it at face value.

You must have watched a different speech than the rest of the country.
Quit with the hate already. Can't you see this kind of rhetoric is hurting the country?

lol, my baby cousin(who totally doesnt get politics) was laughing with me about the house speaker sitting next to Biden, it was so painful for him , it looked like he was constipated and everytime OBama hit on something positive or hard to oppose, it looked like the guys face would crack he was trying so hard to hold back any sign of agreement,,lol

but yeah, I thought it was a good speech per usual, just hope the next two years will move at a quick enough pace to feed the american hunger for overnight change,,,

It was that obvious wasn't it.the Republicans have no intentions of working with anyone. Not the President, not the Democrats, and not the people.

get off it...

was and is no hate in what I said.

turn off the sound and watch the tape... watch how many times he frowns at the teleprompters. Count them....

He was either suprised by what he was reading... Or he was unprepared for it.

Or he did not believe it but had to read it.

Presidential he acted in Tucson.

Puppet he looked like in speaking the state of the union before congress...

I would have rather he looked like a president.

Just as jobs and businesses can now race across borders, so can new threats and new challenges.

What a freekin' hypocrite.

Our Souther borders are wide open and he refuses to secure them, inviting those threats.

Why don't you read the speech or at least listen to it before making comments that are obvious to everyone that you didn't?

He addressed the topic that seems so important to you and most Americans.

Now, I strongly believe that we should take on, once and for all, the issue of illegal immigration. And I am prepared to work with Republicans and Democrats to protect our borders, enforce our laws and address the millions of undocumented workers who are now living in the shadows. (Applause.) I know that debate will be difficult. I know it will take time. But tonight, let's agree to make that effort. And let's stop expelling talented, responsible young people who could be staffing our research labs or starting a new business, who could be further enriching this nation. (Applause.)

If you did not see that then you were watching with tainted glasses.

There is a really big difference between what he said and what he has done to protect our borders. A person's actions always speak louder than words. He wants the Hispanic vote. Period.

How dare you...

You may disagree with me and I don't mind.

Insult me... that is pretty low (kinda shows desperation... Perhaps you were not as pleased with that speach as you claim).

I saw what I saw... I am pretty sure other people saw it also... He had one HECK of a hard time with the teleprompters...

and he came did not appear to have much CONVICTION in most of what he said...
