My feet pound the red earth
In time to the drums Flute lilting through the air As the wind catches at my hair I let my mind wander as I dance It slips between the music of my people Firelight reflects off my nakedness The spiral in red and blue painted on my back The hoop in yellow across my breasts My red skin glows in this firelight Looking as if I have fallen from the heavens above The lone flute player He stops and stares At the beauty the emanates from within me The moonlight catches in my eyes And he stares with a heavenly desire I dance now in front of him The scent of sage coming from my hair Drifting to him upon the night air Dancing on he watches me I lift my arms to the stars above Asking them to grant me his love... *****Aiyana is a Native American name meaning "ever blooming"*** |
