Was a brilliant speach...
Kudos cause he did it without a teleprompter (other than old style). Perhaps he should write more of his own stuff. I am still not ready to vote for him. (unless there is more of this actuall chief stuff). I like the man. Don't like his policies. |

All in all I thought it was a good speech, couldv'e done W/O nappy or holder though. I love how he handled the extreme left and rights media situation, I watched it on KVOA and when he was talking about that they focised in on sheriff droopdick and that guy was as vapid as jimmy carter. He was probably asking himself "where am I? Jupiter?" but I like what Obama had to say about the victims and am happy to hear Giffords has opened her eyes, still hoping to hear she is up and about with all her faculties. |

I get the impression is someone you would like to have a Sunday BBQ with and watch the game. Ya know what I mean? I just don't like his politics. |

I was very impressed with the speach. wish a few more of our politicians could rise to the occasion that way. I sincerly hope that will be his actuall action going forward. Would be very good for the country to have our president lead outside of party. |

I thought it was a very good speech and it was interesting how he was able to make the point that we do not know what caused this tragedy but at the same time, we need to tone it down.
I think there were many that were ready to pounce if he said the wrong things but I watched a lot of the commentary after the event and it was all very positive. There were a couple things I felt were missed...one is that the two guys who tackled the shooter, they should have been called out by name and should be getting more recognition. Patricia Maisch was called out by name. I suppose the the only reason they are not is because that is the way those two want it to be....I think those guys deserve some kind of medal for bravery....I know one is retired Army colonel Bill Badger who is 74 years old. I also thought it was strange that the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, was not in attendance. He should have been there and spoke. There were many other Republicans in attendance, ie., John Kyle, John McCain and even Ben Quayle. |

I was very surprised that Jan Brewer wasn't preceded by a hail of boos when she went up to speak. I wanna know who the smart *** was that made the seating chart that placed Brewer and holder next to each other? |

Really the only thing good about this visit was his speech, the rest of it was liberal hullabaloo. We had an Indian open the ceremony/memorial, then everything read was from the old testament. Gabrielle ( which her and the others are the whole reason for the memorial) is Jewish. Where was the Rabbi to open the ceremony/memorial? This was mostly about "Diversity" of this assinine city (we have a statue of Pancho Villa downtown for gawds sake), so for the most part it was pretty worthless but Obama said what needed to be said and I thought he did a good job and for that I give him |

His blessing was good... His words came from HIS faith... and they fit the occasion (please excuse me for saying this) much better than the scriptural quotes did... "memorial" was for those that died. Gabby did not. Oh yeah... almost forgot... Our first speaker ended his blessing with a name of god (one of many) and obviously few understood it. |

He was born here, he's an American who put too much attention on "Meheeko" which is common here, again Pancho Villa statue! I still think a Rabbi would have been more appropriate than an American Indian. This is the city I live in and I am telling you that this had a piece of cultural diversity which should not have been. I am Odinic and my beliefs and American Indian beliefs are quite similar so I understand and appreciate what he did, its just that the whole reason they all came here was because of Gabby...who is Jewish. Where was the Rabbi? They didn't come here for the victims! If (for the most part) Gabby wasn't shot they would not have made the trip, not for a judge or staffer anyway. Tucson is not necessarily very liberal but it is democratic and it was quite obvious to those who live here. |
