"Paths We Chose"


The root to all evil was planted long ago
choices you made, subconsciously or other, we'll never know,
YOU made your own path, and YOU let the sunshine disappear
in your absence, clouds appeared, and
the storms never cleared

Trust was broken with evil spirits afoot
there ws no redemption for either one of us
As the rain fell, weeds grew higher and higher,
and our forest of love was overgrown
and we couldnt rise above it
and the winds blew harder and harder
filling your sails taking you out to sea
farther and farther away
away from me and "us"

I wanted to be your lantern and your light
I wanted to be enough to make you fight
and find your sunlight
I wanted to be the compass that led you home
and I was here stumbling along
the same path we made together
now overgrown

I gave you all I could
and you say you did too
but it was just never enough
and "I'm Sorry" couldnt get us through
the weeds are high, and sunlight is gone
now we both walk along, together
yet alone
Darkness surrounds, but I am not afraid
My steps though unsure, I have to go on
Over the horizon I see
A glimpse of sunrise
and I hope to be
able to open my eyes and see
it's beauty once again...

This is still my home away from home!
Still have a lot to write about, just not much time with the summer months!

The path that I was on was a cicular one that led nowhere. All I around me, I saw the corpses of the relationships that I'd had in the past. One day, as I rounded a curve on a rise, there before me was the best relationship that I ever had, and it was still alive, but in need of major help. That help came in the form of honesty, and trust. These two things were not in the relationship at any great amount the first time around, but I could see that they were the only thing that could ever bring a glimmer of life back to it, and a ray of sunshine, even on a dreary day, back into my life.

I dropped to my knees to thank the good Lord for giving me another chance at this, and a voice came to me. The voice said this... "My son, you are about to get a chance at one of the greatest gifts I endowed into mankind again with this woman. I know that you have asked me for forgiveness, and I gave it to you long ago. If you look behind you, you will find the one who has been on this path, also walking in circles, looking for you. She has also asked for another chance with you, and this is my gift to the both of you- each other, and each other's love. Promise me one thing, and I shall make the both of your destinys be intertwined. Do not take this gift for granted, as it will wither like a rose in the most beautiful garden if it is not fed on a daily basis." "Lord" I said, "Thank you for this chance, I will do everything possible to be the man she deserves." "My son" said the Lord, "I know."
